Ok quick update....

Had a bit of a delay as my spanner monkey became a dad for the first time. Baby was born a bit previous so requiring extra care.
Only reasonable course for me was to grow some patience...

But did the strip down this week and found a bent conrod, caused by the savage boost cut.

Having decided 2.3 is the way to go, we're going for a new block, 4g64 crank, Wiseco pistons and Manley rods.
Cam will be 266 in, 272 out. We'll do extensive head work. The engine will be dry-sumped in order to future proof, and given that it will get a good kicking every day.

We will initially reassemble with the standard turbo and ancilliaries, apparently 2.3 on a standard tubby is hilarious, just about the quickest- spooling 350hp one can imagine but all out of puff by 6000rpm.

Then we will go back and add a GT30, most likely a 3037s or r, for 500 - 550hp

Also doing a respray. I was never a fan of championship white, so a colour change to Icelle Blue is coming.

For a while was planning on ending up with two engines and transferring one into Mr.2, but have concluded that the torque riddled delivery of a 4g63 would make the toyota undriveable in the wet....that engine is almost impossible to drive off- boost, it's eager almost to a fault. So if I'm determined to go forced induction on Mr2 will will blow the stroked 2zz lump we have built / transplanted in.

So parts have been ordered and will begin arriving soon, we have a slot booked with the engine builder and work will soon begin.
Tres exciting!
