Has anyone heard this direct-to-disc recording from Germany?

Apparently this Berliner recording outfit does the direct-to-disc in a very serious audiophile way, and is the real deal.

I found on the Berliner website some clips of the songs. They sound good!

I have both. Don’t buy. They went into my one time wonder bin. Until you posted this, I played again this morning to confirm my memory. Sounding very compressed. The music is pretty good but not the sound.

Kind regards,
Tang

Wow! That is disappointing!

Direct-to-disc sounding bad? I have never heard of such a thing!

Thank you for letting me know, Tang!

I have. D2D can also be too artificial sometimes.

This one is not even about artificial. No clear space between instruments. What kind of D2D is this? The saxophone sounds like you put a towel in it. What is English word for it?...muff?...compressed?
