Genesis tweeter attenuator value

Hi everyone.
Recently got myself a set old of Genesis 400 + center + sub.
The speakers have an attenuator on the back, and from what I can tell it controls the volume of the rear firing tweeter.
All the drivers work well, but I think the attenuator is faulty. When you turn it, there is no sound from the tweeters. When you stop turning, sometimes there's sound and sometimes there's no sound.
I want to replace the attenuator, but don't know the values.
I've tried measuring it, but not able to, since it normally shows open circuit.
I know there's no schematics for the 400, but I'm hoping there's enough knowledge out there to be able to allow me to find a replacement
I figure all I need to know is a resistance value, power rating, and log or linear
Can someone please help me suggest a replacement.
I can upload photos if that helps.

Thanks

Indeed best is ask the company off course, but older equipment what hasnt been used for a while can have a bit of corrosion built up.
You can use contact spray for electronic contacts , see if you can spray inside the attenuator , wait a while and power it on.
Its cheap and simple and might solve it

You could try as andromeda suggested and use a contact cleaner like the CAIG Deoxit Pro Gold. However, if you measured an open circuit, the previous owner might have used it a lot, wearing it out.

I don't know what is used in the G400, but a 10W wire-wound 1 ohm linear pot should work. The Genesis tweeter is a 4 ohm ribbon (purely resistive) so the 1 ohm gives is a 3dB range.

Thanks for that Gary.
I've been searching for a 10W wirewound 1 ohm linear pot, but not been able to find any. They all seem to be 1k, 10k, 1M etc. Am I searching for the wrong thing? Or is it a very specialised item?

Errr...... our current pots might not fit the old G400. That speaker is over 20 years old, and if I remember correctly, the old G-III used a different size and type of pot than what we currently use.

But, like Carol said. If you pay shipping/postage we'll be happy to send one out to you.

I have emailed Genesis through the web page but have got no reply.
I tried the form to 'Sales and Service' but was having problems with the page, so I send a message to 'General Inquiries' but so far still have got no reply.
Is there an email address I can send my request to? Or should I try the web page again?
Thanks

I emailed a few months ago. I will do it again, as I was having problems with website.
I messaged asking about potentiometers for the my Genesis 200. Happy to ask about it here if it's easier.
