Hi All,

Today was a momentous day for me as I took delivery of a brand spanking new Vyger Atlantis turntable. I had an idea what to expect having regularly heard and seen the Vyger Indian at The General’s house.

However nothing quite prepares you for the sheer monstrous size and insane finish of Vyger. Hauling this bad boy around requires a minimum 2 people and Weetabix for breakfast (sorry English joke).

Anyway after an evening of setup I am finally there. I managed to get just 5 tracks in before bed but what I heard so far was very special and I have much to do in the way of tweaking the setup for optimum performance.

I will continue to post as and when I spend more time with this masterpiece but in the meantime and Vyger fans or owners, please chime in.

It means I'm really into the pics when I put my monitor on its side just to get a better look! Congrats on a stunning new table!

I would love to see more picks of the arm please :D

It’s no wonder you needed the Rogoz rack to support that weight. Looks mighty impressive and much better looking than the full steel behemoth they make.
Enjoy.

Like transformers, if a movie was made on turntables, Vyger would have the lead role

Congratulations! My neck suffered until I imported the picture and rotated it, but it looks awesome. Do you know what is the mass of the platter? I was very impressed when I found that it has both vertical and horizontal air bearings!

Just found this article with plenty of technical information and diagrams of the inside secrets! https://www.monoandstereo.com/2016/02/interview-with-enrico-datti-from-vyger.html I was astonished to find that this turntable was manufactured in Italy! BTW, the interview with Enrico Datti is really worth reading.

Francisco, this tt/arm combination of Bill’s is, as we say in Blighty, the mutt’s nuts.
Bill is totally totally crazy.
But we this side of The Pond cannot allow Dave, Mike, Christian, Ron, and Tang the other way, to have the monopoly on world’s greatest tt.

Sure will put some up later. My one has a brand new (design) carbon fibre arm. I was surprised how easy it was to set up tbh.

Thanks - it is a total monster in the flesh. Nothing really prepares you for it until you see it there in person. The manual said it weighs 90kg.

Thanks Barry. Indeed there was method in my madness for ordering the Rogoz :)

Literally nothing upsets the Vyger in that rack lol.

Bill, how are you going to convince your kids this thing is not a fairground ride?
It’s got a kind of Steampunk vibe going on.

Thanks a lot, Gian. Yes this is one very special machine - I am certain of that. The new Atlantis has quite a few modifications to enhance the product - I think The General is well versed on the subject but think it is fairly extensive including compressor, computer controller, arm etc.
