Up for sale is my Audio Research Reference CD-9 Player/DAC. It was purchased new from an authorized Audio Research dealer in February 2017. It is in brand new condition (10/10) and has approximately 500 hours on it. It has been lovingly cared for in a smoke, pet and child free environment.

This is a truly wonderful sounding component, ARC’s best sounding digital source component in my opinion. When I purchased it, I did a direct comparison to the ARC DAC9 and the ARC Reference DAC, and the Reference CD-9 won out. The Reference CD-9’s tube rectification in its power supply and terrific Phillips top-loading transport really set it apart from other tube player/DACs. What the Reference CD-9 gives you is that natural warmth, body and dimension that ARC is famous for. When I purchased the Reference CD-9, I owned the Esoteric K-01X and I honestly feel the Reference CD-9 is every bit on the same level sonically as the K-01X.

I’m listening to the ARC Reference CD9 right now. If you like a warm and liquid midrange with a lot of body, coupled with beautifully textured bass, then this is your Player/DAC. Major synergy with ARC preamps.
