I have recently parted with my watt/puppies, god rest their soul. I am so thrilled with my new Marten Birds. Speakers at 2 to 3 times more cannot hold a candle. Diamond tweeters, ceramic mid's be still my heart. The cost is in the drivers, not the two ton box and paint. For the first time I am turning down the volume to listen.

What gear are you using with the Birds?

Are you using solid state or tube amplification? My impression of the Marten sound is that of a lean and mean machine -a bit relentless for long sessions.
