I am no expert, I'm just a regular people.
The race to nuclear arms can destroy us, no doubt about that. The wars going on right now around the globe are killing thousands of innocent people each month.
Is air pollution a main priority on our planet in the year 2016? It sure is, and here's why:

- The air people are breathing, no matter where, no matter which cities; if that air is polluted, and it sure is (it's a fact), it affects the body, the lungs, the respiratory system, and it also affects the brain. It kills us.

It's a tough situation; because man in his pursuit of more power, more industrialized world, more technologically advanced, is constructing more manufacturing plants who are producing more emissions and more chemical toxic waste. We have no control yet on the poor countries who have not the financial resources to control the air that we are all breathing, including the rich countries. Do you see what I mean?
It's not because one lives in a better place that everything is fine. 92% of the people living on our planet are breathing polluted air that slowly kills.

Yeah, oil, power, drugs, wars, guns, rockets, money, ...all that stuff is real. ...And so is air. Our scientists, our leaders, our planet leaders and scientists; how much closer are they to a better world? The world's richest people, how closely are they working with the top scientists and top savants (best brain)?

Look @ people wearing masks in some countries, walking around in their cities with the skies above so grey that you can't see the mountains in the background.
Look @ Los Angeles, look @ Montreal, look @ Mexico City, look @ Beijing, look @ Tokyo, look @ San Francisco, look @ Vancouver, look @ Seattle, look @ New York, look @ Chicago, look @ Boston, look @ Paris, look @ Rome, look @ Moscow, look @ London, look @ Singapore, look @ Hong Kong, look @

Who's going to kill us first; nuclear bombs or air pollution (global warning)?

It sure makes me think...

Now the cynic speaks.

NorthStar, what you describe is all completely natural.

The plastic, the garbage, the air and water pollution are all natural things that Homo sapiens produce. You posted about the anthropocene epoch a few weeks ago. This is what we do. We change the planet. It is all part of the evolution of the planet and the species and it ISN'T bad either.

Turn, Turn, Turn. Everything has a time and place. We may be approaching the end of ours. It isn't sad, it's just the way it is. I don't think people are sad the other species that have been extinct for millions of years, they're just gone and in some period of time, so will we.

OK, I'm not that cynical, but objectively speaking, that is what will be.

It's the latest news...I'm passing on. It's on the first page of the Internet this morning. 92% of the world pollution is breathing the air population.

Yesterday I watched a civil discussion between two hot shots, one red and one blue. They have different views on what we should be concerned with; between nuclear and global warming. Both are alarming, very. ...Not the two hot shots but the two subjects...annihilation of our planet by man-made destruction: 1) Atomic nuclear bombs (rockets), and 2) Global warming from toxic gas emissions and deforestation, plus oiled based plastic toys for kids.
If giving the choice on how I want to die I would prefer to be submerged, sink in the ocean while having fun sailing during a hurricane storm.

There are towns in Russia that are closed to the outside world because they live in radiation areas. ...Places where things went wrong, very wrong.
That's not living, that is slowly dying. I saw a documentary the other day, wow!

Killing the air we breathe and the air others breathe is a crime. ...A war/genocide crime against humanity.

This is real as it gets. The only people who are truly concerned are the ones already dead and the ones dying now; millions and millions of people every year, and all over the world...in particular the children, the elderly and the handicapped.

Very true Gary, I started few threads about world's problems recently compiled by top scientists. Those threads die first. It's ok because I'm sharing it anyway, even if only one or two people are reading. But cool, you replied here.

Hey, if we clean our air first maybe we can clean our audio signals next. And if we listen for aliens light years away, maybe we can tell them about our pollution issue and the music we listen to.

Sure, taxes is priority number one, then we can die happy breathing toxic air. ;-)

When things on Planet Earth get extraordinarily bad, ARTHROPODA will be recognized as the "Chosen Phylum".

They are adaptable and diverse to the greatest degree.

They have conquered the land, sea and air.

They have been here for a 540 Million years and will continue to be here long after we're gone.

No need to be sad. We will be long gone before they take over.

Pay no attention, I'm just ranting about the inevitability of our demise.

Bob, I have seen the documentaries on the Science and Discovery channels about the radioactive devastation in Russia. It's frightening that the areas surrounding Chernobyl and other radiation accident areas have undergone such change in the plant and animal life there..

Good, you know the situation then. Those people are not allowed to visit outside their fences (or...), they are isolated from the outside world and constantly monitored for level of radioactivity. They don't know the meaning of freedom, health, happiness, ...and we can't visit them either.

I recommend everyone reading the full article above ?
...And watching the documentary ? on Netflix.

No way Gary; I'm paying attention.
It's great to constantly expand our knowledge on all things, living (existing or/& transforming) and sleeping (dead or/& dormant).
We depend on it all, including our air.
