You know how when you go to your old home town, you go back to the few favorite restaurants? Such is the case for me of audio shows and Boulder. They always have the amps on display with the guts exposed and engineers standing by to chat with.





This visit though was very special. First the engineer I ran into was the guy in charge of machining these beats. Having a CNC machine myself, we spent a fun half hour talking about all the challenges, tooling, software and equipment that goes into manufacturing such beasts. I was fascinated that they use the machine to make every little mechanical part from heatsinks to retaining clips. I guess if you have the gear, might as well use it.

I then spent maybe an hour talking to one of the company principals about the streamer you see with the beautiful wide-screen display:


It is a DLNA device and we talked at length what it would mean to have Roon controlling it.

Good people, superb engineering and a delight to speak to. Alas, no music impressions as we were too busy chatting. :)
