Would you drop 50 grand?

I would

Meantime, currently listening to this on FM:

Symphony No. 2, "Resurrection"
COMPOSER:
Gustav Mahler

SOLOISTS:
Cheryl Studer, soprano

CONDUCTOR:
Claudio Abbado

ARTIST:
Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra

ALBUM:
Mahler: Symphonies No 2 & 4 / Claudio Abbado

The problem with this kind of stuff (for me) is that i truly enjoy drinking my whiskys. And i am not sure how good these will be. I have had a number of nice ones though not $2K/collectible...but even the Springbank 21 years (now largely sold out and unavailable), we had 3 and finished 2 quite quickly. The Ardberg Alligator, Yoichi 20-yr (several), older Springbanks, older Macallans, Lagavulin 18...again, not in the same price range but difficult to find and not inexpensive...all finished, though we've kept the bottles for fun and someday will do something with the labels.

I suppose this could be worth a ton more if people really like their Balvenie in the way people have gravitated towards Macallan... but whisky is not an 'investment/collectible' thing for me.

PS. I like the Ivan Fischer Mahler 2nd a lot. Have the Simon Rattle, but prefer Fischer.
