Sound Liaison has gone DSD.

Just received this news letter from Sound Liaison:

We have been consulting various experts as well as conducting our own experiments on how to transfer our recordings to DSD.
What we finally arrived upon was that, in order to make full use of the sonic qualities of DSD, we would need to create new masters especially for the DSD medium.

After a full year of trial and error we finally found, what we believe, is the ultimate DSD conversion method.
We transfer the PCM files via an analogue signal chain, using the best possible outboard gear to create a new DSD master file, and in so doing, embellish the unique qualities of DSD.

Our recording method consists of good old fashioned craftsmanship, combined with years of experience in exact microphone placement, and we are generally completely transparent in giving out information on how our recordings were created.
But for the time being we will keep our DSD conversion method a secret. :)

You can find our DSD downloads in our renewed Sound Liaison Music Shop. http://www.soundliaison.com/

So they take a PCM file and go though analog gear, then capture in DSD..? I do it all the time.... it's called remastering....

Guess I'll have to give it a listen... Thanks!

Why bother if the master is 24/96 PCM? If it is recorded with PCM, that is what I want. if the original recording is done via DSD as done by Channel Classics, that is what I want. Just my philosophy.

I guess they want to do something different.

I have the original PCM files which I find sublimely well recorded, best soundstage available.

Maybe they think that since they offer the original master PCM file people can always transfer that them selves.....?

phew.... crazy discussion, they guy who started it, has not even listened to the free samples and still finds it necessary to warn people and tell them to buy the PCM files,
and then the whole things turns into a promo for the Blue Coast label,( good label BTW), but as Ray used to say;
