It was really great to meet everyone at the show. I really enjoyed my time and thought Constantine put on a great event!

You're room certainly seems to have drawn a few people in and gotten rave reviews :)

Yeah, Jonathan said everyone loved our Studer tape machine in his room playing master tapes. Hopefully Dagogo will be doing this again next year.

We were planning to go until we found out that there was no drayage service. Coming from Colorado; we would have to ship all the stuff and have a place to store it and get it in to the hotel (store boxes during show) and out of hotel (boxes brought back to hotel) and arrangements for pickup and return shipment. Without those services, it was not possible for us to go. Hopefully, the show was successful enough for Constantine to do it again next year and offer drayage.

How big was it? As I understood, one of the goals was to offer a clear path for new and younger folks to step into this hobby without costing a fortune and a friendlier experience (minus the snootiness). Did y'all see any of that?

cheers,
Angela

I wonder if the other vendors ran into the same logistical issue that we did - no drayage. I hope that they can get this in place within the next year and give it a go again next year. We would most likely attend if they did. We'll contact Constantine directly.

Apparently some of the exhibitors were dissatisfied with the venue - the hotel had power suppy issues.

Yep, fuses were popping and had to be reset. Another issue was parking - the hotel had only a small lot and the large nearby structure was closed. But this is nitpicking. Overall, the promoters deserve our support and thanks for bringing a quality high-end audio (no video!) show back to the Bay Area. I hope they are inclined to continue this in the future.

I second Jay's thought. I remember going to T.H.E.Show every year in SF before it ran out of gas. The show however was always well attended.

THE Show now runs in Las Vegas, at the same time as CES. It seemed to be quite well attended this year (my only visit so far).

I think this just shows how much work and thought go into putting on a show and the cooperation with the hotel. We exhibit at T.H.E. Show each year. Richard works hard. We also go to R.M.A.F - it's a nice show and close by for us. I hope that Constantine learns from this year and expands it next year.

The bad thing about drayage is that the Unions could care less about the equipment. I"ve had so much stuff destroyed and trying to make a claim is fruitless. How can someone actually break off a corner and wheel of an ATA flightcase is beyond me???
