Some information on the new Gamma and Theta lines, I believe these new lines were only launched just last week, so only just beginning to stir new interest, I am hoping to buy soon a Theta XC powercord for my Shunyata Gemini as it looks like an excellent proposition for the price point....will...
Hi,
I was rather stunned with the Gemini, it’s an absolute no brainer and brought a lot to the table, I am sure you would get a very nice uptick in SQ if you grounded all your network to the Gemini, they also make adapters to EJ45 connectors, along with grounding spades , XLR , RCA , BNC etc...
After a prolonged period away working I finally got to install my recently purchased Shunyata Omega Ethernet cable along with the Shunyata Gemini, before I installed first the Omega and subsequently the Gemini, I had a prolonged listening period to let my ears adjust again to my system (using my...
Whilst I am constantly over in the US working, I find it easy to get in places like Whole Foods "Yorkshire Gold" and then I make a half and half cup of tea with "Twinnings Earl Grey"...a very for my taste refreshing brew of tea....
Hello Mark
That's very interesting about the Philips tubes you mention, I have to say that good tubes really do bring a very "Lush" presentation to music...
Now that is very interesting about the Tube locations on the PCB, one for RCA/SE and one for XLR/Balanced, with that now in mind I think I will get one each of the Mullard and Telefunken tubes, thank you very much for pointing that out, Cristian Anelli is a stand up character who is always quick...
Hi Designsfx
Thanks for the info, I may just have to get a pair of the Mullard 6060's and a pair of the Telefunken 12AT7/ECC81 tubes that you have, as they have piqued my interest, I really thought that the Telefunken 801S were concidered the holy grail out of all the Telefunken tubes, but the...
Very interesting that you acquired some Telefunken Tubes (am assuming the 801S !), for a while now I have been interested in this Tube, but not sure how these would translate in my system, as I have read several reports that they can be just a little bit too revealing, would very much like to...
Similar observations to mine, I truly think the La Scala with said upgrades in Tubes, Feet and a Good Power cable really does elevate this DAC into something special, and actually a veritable bargain and value proposition for the price.
Just recently got the Shunyata Omega, and to say I am excited to get it into my system is an understatement, but boo hoo, I have to wait until I get back home next month as away working....will in due course report back on this cable......
Just before Covid hit, I heard the AIC10 with my Solitare P headphones and it sounded fantastic...very organic and natural sounding, spades of Class A niceness, one day I may go for the Levante which offers either pure class A or a Class A/B option as well...
I bought my first set recently and use them on my Aqua Linq with great effect, and will buy more for the rest of my equipment, they bring a wonderful ease to the reproduction is what I found, thoroughly worthwhile investment
Hello Backo NYC/SF
I am using a pair of original 1960's M8162 CV4024 Gold Pins NOS from the Mullard factory in Mitcham London, I would for sure like to one day try the Telefunken 801's that I think you mentioned on another post.....
Totally empathize with your comments and observations about the Aqua LaScala, imho it's a hidden gem, and if you put some good tubes in along with good isolating feet, you really cannot go wrong, everything becomes elevated and scales to a higher level , very liquid and natural organic sound...
Thanks Miguel for the nice words
Hands down the best thing about when I was living in Lisbon was your shop and you and the guys getting me on my Audiophile journey with always great advice, always amazing new equipment and most importantly a friendship that lasts to this day....I miss Lisbon and...
Yes, Ultimate Audio in Lisbon are now Lampi dealers and this is their latest set up in the main demo room (they have 4 dedicated in total, along with the main reception area / showroom).
A Lampi Horizon along with Advantgarde Acoustic Trio G3 and Spacehorns, with a pair of Kondo Kagura 2i mono...

My dear friends at Ultimate Audio in Lisbon who have had many many legendary and Iconic Amps pass through there premises, pulled no punches with what they thought of the "Kagura 2i Monoblocks"...
Thank you for the kind words,
Indeed, we both had a fabulous time and there will certainly be more trips to Paris in the future, maybe slightly shorter, as a side trip to the vineyards in Bordeaux has always been on my wish list of places to visit (been there for work, but never with time off...
Thank you, we are both certainly in the camp of "live to eat" rather than the other way round, very fond of the first growth wines from the St Estephe, Paulillac, Saint-Julien, and of course Margaux areas, and all being on the left bank of the Garonne river.....
Best wishes
In 2018 my wife and I decided to spend Christmas in Paris ...
Stayed at the newly opened "LaFauchon" 5 starred boutique hotel which was nice enough but was suffering from some opening teething problems (felt more like a soft opening to us), a slightly quirky hotel, and most certainly not a true...
