I own the Homerus DAC from Aires-Cerat which sits above the Kassandra but does have the SET output. I wondered if you or anyone has had an opportunity to directly compare the Ithaca to the Homerus. The Homerus is an absolute step up from the Kassandra LE.
Myself and Joshua of Aires-Cerat are planning a trip to Munich. I was wondering if other WBF forum members were attending and would be interested in meeting for dinner? I am also looking for a hotel recommendation while there. Any comments?
The pics don't adequately convey the size of the huge Homerus. The unit is massive. My MSB Select and both its power supplies could fit easily in the chassis with lots of room to spare. In addition, Stavros's components have now become beautiful on the inside a well. No question about what you...
Wonderful post. Sharing the process you experienced as you progressed through the daunting challenge of creating a successful product in such a competitive world gives me a much greater appreciation of you, your product and even myself. I am fond of low powered SETs and the high efficiency field...
My question is can I get a taller , narrower version of the subwoofer?
Of course while the speaker is now refined and beautiful, it‘s aesthetics are nothing compared to music it performs. As they say in audiophile land, it’s not how it sounds but how the speaker makes you feel that is...
I was ready to purchase your new Evo USB cable sound unheard. I mean I like the 2020 so why not upgrade? You showed the depth of your integrity by wanting me to try it out first before purchase. Frankly, I was not expecting more than just incremental upgrades. I was surprised by the absolutely...
Plenty of PRAT and muscle. Not like romantic in the sense of the old tubes which got muddy and lacked upper and lower end clarity. I hate sounding cliche and words describing music mean completely different things to different listeners but tube beauty with full range reproduction. Though CH and...
Has your dear friend actually heard the Aires-Cerat? I own the Aires Cerat LE. I previously owned the Lamm LP1 signature and also currently own the Solution 755. I was able to recently directly compare the Airtight ATE-3011 and Ypsilon VPS 100 to the Aires Cerat in my office listening room...
The other day I was lamenting to my Psychologist friend about the fact that there are so many things I cant remember in my "golden" years and if that means my cognition is about as good as my knees. In her truly compassionate manner, she assured me that while memory may decline, our pattern...
Hi Mike,
I also own the Select 2 headphone amp with the Stax 009s phones. I also prefer, generally, listening from the Select DAC 2 with speakers using a dedicated preamp. However in this case, the music is simply stunning using only the MSB DAC, headphone amp and Stax headphones especially from...
Hi
Josh, you could have told me you posted a question In this forum. I do own the MSB Select 2 with dual power supplies and upgraded clock. I also have the LE Kassandra. On weight the Kassandra certainly wins being that I cannot even lift the power supply while I can lift all 3 MSB modules. The...
I happened to come upon this thread and found the above comment mirrored my own experience. I currently own the MSB Select 2 with the Select headphone amplifier. I previously owned the DCS Vivaldi 2 stack sans transport. I sold the Vivaldi because of a conflict with the local sales guy and...
So, do we get a hint of what this audioporn photo is actually? The true room of the new M9 installation with the M9s projected into the space? A mystery loft owner who already posses the M9s? Pure fantasy? Can't wait till there is someone who can compare the sound of the M9 with the obvious...
I have the wall cabinet mounted Equi=Tech 10WQ. Like Mike I have the balanced outlets next to straight power. After a LOT of comparison time, I believe my amps sound better when they are plugged into straight power.
I cannot recall the brand name but the Balanced Power devises sold by Maier at...
In Munich, I felt one of the very best sounding rooms used YG speakers driven by Nagra (HD?) amplifiers. I know these are very expensive amps and this room had a gifted EMT guy tuning the cartridge, but the music was exceptional.
Really creative new artist. I found her on Qobuz also. I do think she can get a little hard on the head with some songs but beautiful on others. Her song Bad Guy is a candidate for an audiophile demo song. I played it on my system, loud, and was just blown away.
Thanks Mike,
Nice club to be in. The Gold club of course.
I know it sounds like a cop out but my two systems are so different, I am not sure they can be realistically compared. My work system is all tube Aires-Cerat Talos phono and Impera preamp with an AS-2000 table and a Primary Control FCL...
