The Audio Note UK Ladder-Resistor DAC is ready to debut!

interesting ... thanks for sharing. PQ is really a music lover and listening to all types of music. he loves to show off what a few SET watts can really sound like at times. if you had asked him to play something you were familiar with i am sure he would have been happy to do so! :)

did anyone in the forum go to show and can report back on the sound?

AUDIO NOTE (UK) Zero level transport and Day

i can tell you, at least from my experience, the lower level Audio Note UK is fantastic and superior to many other similar components at their respective price point. Where things really jump to the next level sonically is with the Oto SE (which i believe is a level 2) amp. the harmonic...

    New WAMM details

i suppose that is true. but i would still be willing bet of the ... say 250 wilson products produced each year (or whatever the actual number is) greater than 50% are sold to current or existing wilson audio clients. it is not a bad thing, not at all, actually i think it is a good thing in...

    New WAMM details

yes, wilson is fantastic with customer service ... probably one of the best in the industry. thier marketing is clever, but again it is catered to thier existing clients not trying to get new ones. product / quality is good. is it the best? no. can it be better? yes, of course.

    New WAMM details

yes, most of high-end audio ... greater than 60% (the actual number is likely higher) is sold to asian markets.

    New WAMM details

i agree. new model ferrari's are always offered to current ferrari owners, full stop. it makes complete business sense as ferrari will need to know what their final production numbers need to be but it also supports their dealers. the dealers get income from the initial sale, the resale of...

Basement listening room. Best type of ceiling ?

agreed. i’m struggling with the same issue. low frequency issues are making my life difficult. i’m trying to make a 7.5 ceiling work. ultimately, going to have to move my new listening room.

Why does Wilson wire internally with Transparent cables? Should Wilson owners use Transparent also?

this post is completely ridiculous. what on earth does ones education have to do with anything? who cares! looking at your bio you go on and on and on and on about what you do. am i impressed? no! my point is ones education has nothing to do with anything related. it’s not a job interview...

Why does Wilson wire internally with Transparent cables? Should Wilson owners use Transparent also?

this thread was a fun read ... although i want my time back! here is the deal, despite what other have said ... it is about business. yes, business. wilson, just like ever other manufacture, has to juggle between making a product they feel their end user wants while at the same time making...

    Magico A3 on Soundstage.com

thanks for this. great article! i think in the coming 18-24 months there will be more and more manufactures looking to make a real full range hi-end speaker that are attainable to many more people. for example, look at the 'Idea' from Avalon Acoustics, which have to say is nothing short of...

wilson audio sasha or martin logan cls

technology while nice does not always equate to better sound. better measurements, yes. better sound? not always.

wilson audio sasha or martin logan cls

imho, it would be like taking a giant step backwards. maybe find a dealer who will let you try the sasha at home first. they tend to add a lot of unnatural mid-bass to all types of music (although you can minimize by placement) so you may not like them. especially if you are use to listening...

Room Acoustics - Understanding the Measurements - Next Steps

i am just barely understanding this dsp stuff. does anyone have a step process or guide on how to learn more about dsp and how to use it in your system. i know there is ton of software out there. is there a like a top 5 list? and what about room acoustics ... does one use dsp in conjunction...

How's does Spectral compare to Soulution ? Sound wise

that makes sense to me. this notion of a speaker or amp or pre amp or anything for that matter to not have a sound just doesn't make sense. it is impossible. but being able to clearly hear differences does make sense to me. thanks.

sorry ... M' material is a very high density cured phenolic-bonded wood fibre and X is a mineral-loaded acrylic formulation (of wood most likely):). you can put lipstick on a pig and its still a pig.

First listen to WAMM from TAS

i just test drove a 991. in the snow! it feels so much bigger (wider) compared to my 997 but it really is not. the pdk shifts a little faster then in mine as well. it has a very more hp but i couldn't really get into that as it is snowing in slc right now. the interior in the 991 much...

the "composites" are all wood. x, m, z, y, f, and whatever else wilson uses is all wood based. there can be no x or w without the wood my friend.

wait what? didn't they only produce like 7,000 of those? $2K in 73? i think the buying power of a $1 then compared to now is 5.5 times. so you would have sold for the equivalent of $11K in todays dollars? someone got a good deal.

How's does Spectral compare to Soulution ? Sound wise

i don't think i understand what 'neutral' is. does that mean it plays exactly what is on the source? if that is the case it is impossible to do that as every component has a sound whether you think they do or not ... and i am not even getting into how the source material was recorded and with...
