I love that you started with the Omega Ethernet. It's really on another level. I use it mainly for balanced AES signals in a Meridian DSP system (RJ45 CAT based). But also for "Ethernet" duty off the Uptone switch to streamer which is mated via fiber to the master switch.
Gemini is an...
Sigma XC is alot more powerful sounding, crisp and delicate. But the price difference is large.
I would say the Sigma HC is an excellent value for money.
DF-SS is not for heavy cables. I would wager Moebius is better suited with 3+2 straps.
I have 18 DF-SS in my setup and those straps are getting longer and less nimble. One snapped right off.
I use Shunyata Alpha V2 power cable with a Super3/Furutech/OrangeFuse/DC 2 Silver cable to a modded Meridian 210 streamer with GX inlet.
I compared a bit with the Furutech DPS 4.1 cables but I settled on the DPS for the Meridian 861V8 digital preamp and the Shunyata Alpha v2 PC on digital sources.
I’m using 1x Typhon T2 for Left, Center and Right active speakers.
The T2 reference umbilical is custom ordered with a C15 termination for the Meridian DSP7200HCSE active center speaker.
Thanks IanB for your impressions. Having recently put my Triton V3 on duty for my workstation/headphone-DAC Hifiman Jade-II electrostats. I can testament that QR/BB and NIC absolutely impact serious headphone systems.
Completing my new in-room layout have been slow but will start to burn in the...
7ryder, you’re now at the 2-week mark. How is the T2 settling in so far? Since you are using it with a 6000S/2 how do you find using its local outputs vs using the 6000S/2 outputs? Any stark differences there?
I use optical OM4 cable for ethernet duty where I can. Been using Furutech, AQ Vodka/Diamond for finer duties where RJ45 is the only option.
I've used Shunyata Omega ethernet extensively for AES/EBU duties riding ethernet cable in my Meridian based system. Waiting for my first Omega Ethernet to...
Oh, then you will have a double upgrade.
Thanks for expressing what is going on in the system. 1 day is very little for a powerconditioner so I expect things will develop from here.
In my setup it felt like I did the ground upgrade again. I went from cgs10 which was shunyatas first ground cable and not KPIP treated to Sigma CGC with the V2 conductor. Only the Sigma CGC has the v2 conductor.
I'll answer my own question. There is a Super 10 coming in the autumn probably. Anyways, I went ahead and ordered the Super3 with fuse and Furutech IEC. Also, I took the 1,0m DC2 silver cable since I thought it was a good place to start.
I will put this on my streamer first. Although I admit...
There is only one version of Sigma XC, now Sigma release is in v2 but XC is in the series for the first time. That is why I for example don't write out the v2.
Well if you want 0 filter the XC models could be what you are looking for. I know there are some gear/listeners that just love straight highway DTCD, my digital preamp might be one of them even though logic would dictate otherwise.
Do a trial of the Sigma and Alpha V2 in your setup and see where you benefit most from the Sigma level. I think you will find the Shunyatas will let through a true and beautiful sound. For me the progressing to the full v2 loom is really an ear-opener. More of the goodness is coming through! :D
Apart from the slower extrusion process the Alpha clock V2 have a CMode filter as well. And the Sigma have two if I remember correctly. I really enjoy the Alpha V2 clock 75 to my 10MHz OCXO/EtherRegen.
