    My small room system

Thanks Ron. Yes I got the baltic 3 a couple of months ago. Thoroughly enjoying the DAC, it replaced a Bricasti M1se MDX. It is the older engine 53 though. Cheers, Sid

    My small room system

I have this setup in a small but dedicated room of only 14' x 12'x 8.5'. It took a while to position the speakers to get the best sound, however the Sabrina's sound excellent now. Cheers, Sid

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

I don't think so, as the dealer is fairly straight forward, I have bought many components from him. However as it stands today, even I am reluctant to test the Big7 due to the legacy status on the site, as I would not buy it even if it sounds better than the B3. Also there are very limited...

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

I am based in India. So the dealer here hinted that, perhaps based on the fact that it was moved to a legacy product and it may be phased out in the future. Anyways he has some older units in stock, so I am still trying to get a home audition of the big 7 mk2 (he does not have the newer mk3)...

This is a no go, I was informed that the Big 7 has been discontinued. Cheers, Sid

    TOR by YG Acoustics

If you are referring to the introduction video, yes I have, thanks. I am looking at this or their smallest floor stander in this range as a possible replacement to my Wilson Sabrina (not x). Since they are sealed I feel they will be easier to locate in my small listening room. Cheers, Sid

I am very interested in this. I don't think there are any professional reviews out yet on this entire range. Cheers, Sid

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

Other than the cost differential, to my ears the B3 sounded better, more livelier perhaps (it was not in my system). Anyways I have requested the dealer to loan me a big 7 mk2, for a few days so I can compare both dac's in my own system. Will report with more detail once I do that. Cheers, Sid

    LampizatOr Baltic 3

I recently replaced a Bricasti M1 Se (MDX) with a B3. I am very happy with the B3, and to me personally it sounds better than the Bricasti (specifically in micro dynamic nuances and also in overall resolution). I also had the option of getting the Big 7 Mk2, but decided to go with the B3...

    Symphonic Line

I have had a kraft 250 for past 6-7 years, many amps. came and went during this period, but this one stayed. Currently also using a Luxman m-700u, but the Kraft 250 handles bass better with my Wilson Sabrina's. Cheers, Sid

    M-700u

Yes that is what I was suspecting. Anyways I have a 2nd setup with easier to drive ATC SCM20v2 and I will plan to move the luxman there and bring the Kraft back. Cheers, Sid

    M-700u

I just bought this amp. to drive Wilson Sabrinas. Is there any recommended break in period for Luxman amps after which optimum sound is achieved? There was no mention of it in the manual. It is sounding great with about 7-8 hours of use, but I feel that my Symphonic Line Kraft 250 amplifier...

Merlot DAC and Syrah Music Server

Reason is there are some good deals to be had on preowned Syrah's so I was wondering if they could be used with other non PBD DAC's. Anyways this clears it up. Thanks. Cheers, Sid

Merlot DAC and Syrah Music Server

Can the Syrah server be used with other DAC's? The manual and all other references say that it has to be used with the Merlot, so I was wondering. Cheers, Sid

Merlot DAC and Syrah Music Server

Thanks for all the replies. However after making payment to the Indian distributor, and waiting 2 months I was disappointed to learn that Playback decided to drop their Indian distributor. So as I understand now, there is no PBD dealer in India. Consequently I ordered a Chord Hugo TT, waiting...

Merlot DAC and Syrah Music Server

I am contemplating this DAC. However since I am in India, there is no opportunity to listen to this before I buy. I have heard the MPD5 before and really liked it. Any idea how this would compare - their ad copy says that it has elements of, both the mpd3 and 5. Cheers, Sid
