    I'm using a DS1515+ for backup (after my library got moved to the Extreme when I first got it). Never had any problems with the NAS or connections. I just mapped a drive letter to \\roon_library\sgm_music (obviously I named the NAS \\roon_library). Don't know if that helps....

    Emile, I went back and tried 2048 again with no luck. I've tried it at all buffersizes, including auto, with no luck. And this last attempt regenerated that XDPlayer error message via cmd.exe on the Extreme, which I had deleted previously.
