When you use the adio/bacch-sp, a streamer is not necessary. It can operate as an all in one unit. There are ways to integrate a separate streamer if you desire too. I have a separate streamer/hub that I like to use.
Yes. I would imagine in this scenario you tell Roon what that endpoint would be and it points back to the Roon core in the MU1 over the network.
I have this setup with another endpoint device and it basically sees the MU1 as a nuc. I have it set up this way for A/B testing for my own use.
To cut the chase - in my experience, yes…the underlying character of an external dac is retained - if you are seasoned enough to pick up on the sonic characteristics of your dac. With XTC in the chain, the impact to the sound stage (clarity, etc), depending on your room’s setup, speaker type...
The enhancements with XTC fall out beyond the normal expectations what a new component will bring. If one separates the DSP aspect from the other elements of digital to analog convention or steaming qualities of devices then I think that helps with understanding the impact of the processing and...
it does roughly the same thing in demonstrating xtc capabilities but with a minimal set of complementary options or enhancements than bacch4mac and above. fwiw, i’ve recently been playing with a stereo purifier, and the short notes are that, its quite a remarkable experience - listening to...
Yah, really I just saw Hans mention it on his YT channel, and I normally would use a some dsp where needed, for example in a previous set up, without the MU1 and MM, I would use a -12db filter or some sort where available in my DACs or streamers. Another example in my previous Lumin X1, I set...
MU1 is incredibly stable. Still loving this combo. I tried experimenting with different power cables to the MU1 and it’s quite difficult for me to search for any changes.
Also on the subject of the Tambaqui, I started using it on the default 6V output and to my amp. I was dutifully thinking 2V...
The meetup is great, but unfortunately may not be able to make it. Im a drives away down in san diego…hope you guys have a blast…! Would have been great to meet you guys.
Im glad someone else has a LG C2 and ATVx.…!! Yah it isnt a bad combo. I cant say the audio has improved? Maybe im just expecting a bit more…my TV is on the wall and not on the stand. Big difference having the audio reinforced with the LG stand but I opted for a cleaner look. When i do want...
A new AMP 54R was just announced in prototype form. The design itself has always turned my head.
Time will tell what sort of strides were made to ensure the SQ is taken to a new level and most importantly accepted by the high tables ;-)
looks interesting. Keep us posted for sure.
im a wannabe networking engineer when i get bored and have time. Which is why I chose unifi - as cmd line configs are just not for me. The hardware, sure isnt highend nor was it in their target audience…but the UI I like and appreciate the cloud...
Yah I just need to be careful. With the size of the carbon specials I had some play in the room. My wife was giving me a little stink eye about it. There is absolutely no way I can do 2 no 31 so it’s a high stress idea to consider just one.
I sold off my dual carbon specials recently. Over time my listening habits just changed. It certainly wasn’t because my new speakers are bass monsters or can carry more bass presence but the room gain sort of over spilled over to those midbass transients that I like.
I love subs and what they...
On the subject of increased PQ with ATVX, if any of you folks watch Schmigadoon on appletv+, it’s ear candy with music (though may not be to your tastes) and the color grading can be so much appreciated.
The color saturation is so rich with so much depth.
This might come with a downside cause I...
Just wanted to give my two cents here for Mark and the Sablon Audio AES cable.
Normally, I am very long winded, but I share many of the sentiments that were already shared with other users…long story short, I purchased a new AES/EBU cable after Mark being so gracious to send both the SPDIF and...
Please tell me your hot rodding UniFi switches lol!
this good be a good option too… Hans B just shared some of his impressions but he only focused on the audio aspect of things…

I, too, like the performance of SS with my horn speakers. Granted they are not ultra efficient (94db 1w/1m) but as sort of mentioned my Bakoon AMP 51R (probably other Bakoons too) is sublime with them.
I might have a couple 300bs amps coming but that’s way far out. And primarily getting them...
Youre in for a treat when the MU1 arrives and you can allow your 300 to bring the boogie :)
fwiw - you might start a new trend when your Grimm and the Holo KTE. Hans B - YT reviewer, seemed to have very good praise with this pairing, enough to bring in the KTE in for a second time!
To note I used a Lumin X1 while I had the 120 w/dac module. I could easily switch back and forth between the X1 dac section and 120 dac module. I wont get too wordy here, but easily was able to tell the X1 gave more resolution, precision and air. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with the...
Congrats on the MU1, it really transformed my digital front end!
fwiw - I didnt have the 300 but the little 120 w/dac module. Depending on your tastes, it is worth it to swap to outboard dac. And I think you already determined this by implementing an MU1. Get something that will pair with it...
This was an experience to be had. And kudos to Justin and (others?) who had the drive to build it. (Can I ‘sponsor’ for a similar pair? J/k)
Multicell horns are a thing of beauty and as said previously, it’s truly an amazing way to disperse sound into the room, that’s if, your room can handle...
Wow, id love to hear this setup! My small horns speakers are good, but there has to be something with a multi-cell horn. I plan to listen to Devon’s OJAS speakers at my nearest dealer in Socal. Thanks for sharing, Russ!
