I'm surprised no one has mentioned the queen of covers.
After leaving Ike and before her great comeback with the Private Dancer LP, Tina did not have the luxuary of being handed great original songs but she liked to cover songs she loved, which she did not give up even afterwards.
Here is a New...

Good day,
Does anyone happen to know if there is an alternative to the Tesla EL51 tube?
Thank you very much for your response.
Philips, Valvo EL51
Yes, I asked because of your name. If I remember correctly, he has declared that he was not going to sell to Russia or Belarus. I think he will reply to you and sell to you, though.
I bought my cherished Atlantic TRP (R2R board, Amanero USB) pre-owned from Lampizator Poland. I, too, asked whether it was advisable to use a DDC thru the AES input instead of USB. Lukasz replied that the AES input would be at best equal but not better than the USB. So I use an Allo USBridge...
And the buyer of a used Lapizator product has the opportunity to get the device shipped by the seller to Lampizator Poland first, where they thoroughly check it FOR FREE and then they ship it to the buyer. This shows how courteous they are even toward custumers of used Lampi.
The new 2022 engine for the Baltic is #53A. The current engine in the TRP is #198.
KR242 cannot be used in the TRP.
What does "orange color 360 degree" mean? Is it orange color everywhere - even the outside of the bottom plate?
I use Jriver as a uPnP/DLNA server and an Allo USBridge Signature Player as renderer running moOde. In moOde setup for DSD playback there is an option for
a) Native DSD
b) DoP
So I choose Native DSD because I know that the Lampi (I have an older TRP with the R2R engine) supports Native DSD...
This futile guessing game about the price is leading nowhere.
For those who can afford such a TOTL DAC in the first place price is no issue anyway.
Regarding aesthetics, to me it is a huge step backwards. But the most important thing is the sound.
Beautiful setup and room treatment. I can see that your sub is behind the Focal stand. I would think that those low frequency waves affect your stand. Aren't they "in the line of fire" in this way?
So it is going to be a different R2R board than they used in the early Atlantic and GG DACs? As far as I know DSD in those were not converted to PCM. Here is a diagram I am copying from a review of the original Atlantic:
If I play back the ripped files through the DAC section of the MARANTZ CD player, I cannot tell the difference between streaming them and playing the CD itself.
I do.
I haven't made the effort of ripping my CD collection. I play CDs through my MARANTZ SA14S1 SE. I have ripped some CDs though and play the files through different DACs. A different experience.
It is actually 5C3S (if transcoding the cyrillic lettering correctly). The label with the 3 bars is the logo of the Svetlana factory in St. Petersburg. (BTW they manufactured EL34 tubes as well).
Back to the recti - the black anode variant is supposed to be better than the greyplate. My TRP was...
I have never heard of hot-swapping tubes. Anyway, I myself would never do it. And I don't switch off - change tubes - switch on, either so I am not an excessive tube roller. Whenever I want to use my Lampi DAC, I decide beforehand if I want new tubes put in and if I do, I unplug, swap tubes...
It's all a bit confusing. AFAIK there was the original Atlantic with the non-rollable Russian output tubes. Then there came the Atlantic TRP, which evolved from the original but adapted to the EL34 pentode tube family but still has the R2R board (I own one of these). The Atlantic 2 TRP is the...
