Agreed, if your system is already at a high level, the jump is significant for what seems little money in comparison to getting a new component or speakers.
They have a money back guarantee if it Doesn’t work for you. Edgar is straight forward but a pleasure to work with. He was part of the recording team on some of David Chesky’s albums and we used some of those recordings to set up my system.
If it is in the recording, you will get 360 degrees...
I have had the Bacch (software) version only streaming from a Mac Mini and I can tell you it’s easily one the biggest upgrades to my system regarding soundstage and the feeling of being immersed in the performance of the artist.. I just ordered the RME unit with the microphones and the new room...
Thank You! I missed that thread earlier. It's great to get your initial impressions in an obviously not perfect room as yours. Hopefully I will get a chance to hear the SYSTEM in the near future at another show or if I'm ever able to travel to the West Coast.
What would be the price for a pair with the configuration in the picture shown, with the core module and powered bass unit underneath with built in amp? Anyone have an idea on the size of the units/modules?
I'm assuming Kevin did this (pictured configuration) to accommodate smaller rooms and...
Thanks for the update Mike! This certainly gives people like me the possibility of starting with the mid towers and upgrading from there down the road. Is this going to be on the market now or very soon?
Is the crossover improved or different than in the MM3/7?
I use the Micro Ones in my system if the standmounts are what you’re talking about. If you can get them far from the front walls and a good crossover with subs, they can sound amazingly full range. Better sounding than most systems at multiple times their price.
I‘ll have to reach out to you...
Wow...new Evolution Acoustics Speakers just debuted at T.H.E SHOW. Are these replacing the MM7's or MM3's or is this something in between? They list the pricing structure at the end.
It looks very configurable and you could start with the "CORE" passive midrange/tweeter for $35k to $38 (Not...
Mobiusman,
Thanks for answering my questions and happy to hear your that are nearing the end of your audiophile journey. I think for me and possibly others, it's not that "there's always something better" but we are searching for the moment (much like a relationship) where we go: "Ah, this is...
Hey Russ, thanks for the great description of your audio journey and landing on your bucket list piece(s). Can I ask what your speakers are and the rest of your electronics? Are you listening to mostly analog or digital or a mix and what is the size of your listening room?
The Westminister...
Just learning of this. Very sad to hear that Jonathan has left us so early. I've only spoken to him over the phone a few times and of course bought some speakers from him. Was anticipating new and exciting things coming from JT in the future. He brought much joy to many of us in hifi...
Thank you for the generous offer. If I ever make it all the way out to Seattle, I would certainly plan to stop by Portland. Sadly I've never visited the Northwest and it's one of the top destinations on my list in the US.
Thank you. Certainly appreciate the offer and if the opportunity and time presents itself in the future, I would love to make a trip up to the northwest.
The idea is to upgrade to something bigger than my standmounts in my current room which is 20x15x10 feet and then remodel the bonus room down the road that is about 50% bigger with 12' foot ceilings. But I need to hear some reference system to know what to look for, try to get as close to those...
I would love to hear them in a properly set up room, if only my work would allow me to get away these days. It's a Catch-22 right now, can't really get away to travel to dealers and shows around the country or visit other awesome audiophile rooms so all I can do is stay home and listen to what...
I agree Marty, my gut feeling was that the XVXs could sound so much better if properly set up.
The seating position for the demo was "moved" from another listening position, meaning eyeballed, when I got to the store. No where near accurate considering the level of detail for importance of time...
I'm at least a little familiar with Evolution Acoustics as the MicroOnes I have (with subs) sound better than most speakers I've hear under $20k. The vocals were marginally better on the XVXs compared to my MicroOnes.
Unfortunately I've only experienced a small sample of what's currently out...
I heard the smaller Gobel at the 2021 CAF, with Parasound Amps - again, at a show, so room conditions may not have been optimal but they were a little underwhelming. Same thing for the Tidal room. They of coursed sounded "good" but nothing that really impressed me or identified with life-like...
I heard the S5 MKII at a show and they sounded extremely analytical and cold. Haven't had a chance to hear Aysolvox yet. Those also seem like they need a fairly large room.
I got a chance to hear a pair of XVXs with Momentum Monoblocks and DCS Stack and was impressed in some aspects. While I have not heard all the top of the line brands and their flagships or near top speakers, I will say I've never heard wood instruments such as upright bass, guitar, cello sound...
In his interview with Jeff Fritz back in 2021, Charles stated they were working on new drivers are possibly, significantly better than their current ones used in their top of the line Veyron series. He also mentioned these were coming to the whole line in the future for production.
Charles...
Pretty cool to see some nice high end equipment in a production. Scene is around 37:20 and 45:20 mark where you can see them in the background.
The show has a great sound track too.
Thank you. I asked because I will be moving my audio system from a 17' wide and 13' deep room to one that is 15' wide but 20' deep. Had a chance to go to Capital Audio Fest last year and only heard very few systems that sounded "right". Planer Magnetic, Ribbon and Line Source speakers are not...
I'm wondering if large/tall Planar Magnetic Speakers such as Alsyvox or Wisdom Audio provide accurate image size and placement accuracy of vocals and instrument? Would the assumption that dipole versions create better soundstage, as in larger and deeper be correct? The Wisdom Planar Magnetics...
Bob, for the cost I certainly hope so but at least you know you the rest of your system is up to revealing those differences if they are there.
I don't know when, but when I'm able to build a dedicated space, I hope to be able to visit your listening room. It's an ideal layout with the...
