Wadax Reference Dac and Server arrive

Congratulations Mike. The Wadax sounds like a hell of a pre-retirement and Xmas present! Thanks for sharing your detailed initial impressions and we look forward to hearing more in the future. Speaking for myself, I’m disappointed to hear that the Select sounds a notch below the Wadax, but...

    Goebel Cables

Good luck with your evaluation. As you know, there’s never one right or wrong answer and it often comes down to personal taste and synergy with the rest of your system. As I own Gobel speakers, I have that synergy. Please keep us posted on how Gobel stacks up after they’ve been full broken in!

Aurender N30 - To stay competitive in 2021

Thanks. I’ve heard that the Aurender AES output is excellent. With the MSB Select and ProUSB/ISL module the USB interface is excellent b/c it is clocked by MSB’s internal Femto 33 clock.

Aurender N30 - To stay competitive in 2021

Thanks! I’m using an Uptone 1.2 LPS with my EtherRegen and an inexpensive outboard clock the manufacturer recommended. Are you using an outboard clock and have you compared the SQ of using CAT8 vs Fiber between your home router/switch and your EtherRegen?

Aurender N30 - To stay competitive in 2021

JCharvet, Please keep us posted on the impact of the custom umbilical cord post break in. In the meantime, would you mind sharing what hardware you’ve implemented along your signal path between your ISP/Router > N30 > DAC? Not sure if you’re using an audiophile switch and/or a USB reclocker...

Aurender N30 - To stay competitive in 2021

I’ve only had my N30SA up and running for a few hours (though it’s been powered on for the last 2-3 days while I transferred music to its SSD and waited to receive my MSB ProUSB/ISL modules). I’m blown away. It crushes my prior config where Roon was running on my QNAP server and using MSB’s...

    Goebel Cables

I have a full loom of Gobel. As you likely have read, they take 500 hours+ to burn in, so be patient. What I heard a few days In, compared to what I hear now, is much different.

    Joes’ New System Install

Got it - thanks. Yes, I’m looking forward to receiving my N30SA. Should be arriving the week after next!

    Joes’ New System Install

Hi Audire, Phenomenal system! Nice that you have access to some very good dealers in Florida who’ve helped you demo and curate SOTA hardware that comprise it…just in time for the holidays! Had a quick question for you. I have a N30SA on order which I intend to upgrade to 16TBs of storage to...

The new MSB Pro USB interface

Gds & Armsan, Very interesting approach to eliminate the use of a USB cable all together. It certainly seems like “less cable should be more” but then again had that unequivocally been the case I surmise MSB would have designed the ProUSB module with a male connector to plug directly into an...

    Equi~Tech vs Torus

Great to hear, LL21, especially because it would have been a major PITA for me to reconfigure my system to bypass my 12KVA Torus!!!

    Equi~Tech vs Torus

Thanks LL21. I’m happy to hear that this has been your experience. My dedicated audio power circuits are running through my Torus All In One system. I was second guessing my set up after hearing from another audiophile that toroidal conditioners weren’t fast enough to supply amps with...

    Equi~Tech vs Torus

Hi All, For those who have invested in a large “whole house” wall mounted power conditioner made by Equi=tech or Torus, I’d be curious to know whether you are plugging your power amplifiers into circuits fed by said toroidal power conditioners or if you are bypassing them (as to not restrict...

Aurender N30 - To stay competitive in 2021

Thanks nonsup. If price were not a factor, for the USB specifically, would you have opted for two Göbels? I’ve heard that the Intona Ultimate is excellent however I’d be curious to hear whether it or the Sablon to your ears is as good as the Gobel?

Aurender N30 - To stay competitive in 2021

Nonesup, I see that you’re using a combination of network and USB cables, of which two include Göbel. I have Gobel speakers and cables throughout. Was there a reason why you mixed brands? And with regard to your Gobel USB cable how does it sound compares to the other brands? Reason I ask, is...

Aurender N30 - To stay competitive in 2021

Thanks Nonesup! Wondering whether the performance of the N30SA or Taiko USB outputs have come far enough along to eliminate the need for inserting a USB reclocker (and a second reference USB cable) in between the server and the DAC? One would hope that’s what you’re paying for when spending...

Aurender N30 - To stay competitive in 2021

Thanks Jcharvet. Appreciate your passing along these insights and viewpoints shared by Aurender. They are consistent with what I’ve learned over the course of my due diligence before making my decision. Saying that, I guess I’d be bummed if they offered a W30 in the imminent future. In my pro...

Aurender N30 - To stay competitive in 2021

Thanks everyone. All great feedback! Rachik, MSB’s best interface is their ProUSB/ISL module so unfortunately I won’t be able to advantage of Aurender’s upsampling available on their AES, which I hear is excellent and not available on its USB output. Rau, I’ve also head the Omega is excellent...

Aurender N30 - To stay competitive in 2021

Thanks gentlemen. I’ve decided to pull the trigger on the N30SA (vs the W20SE). Just seems like the prudent decision considering it’s based upon Aurender’s latest technology platform. Also appears that it has held its own against the Taiko in some recent auditions discussed on another forum...

Aurender N30 - To stay competitive in 2021

Hi all, I’m down to the short strokes of deciding between the N30SA and the W20SE to feed my MSB Select DAC. Will likely decide in the next 24 hours. Saying that, for those who’ve owned or auditioned both models, and recognizing price is essentially equal as is sonic performance, are there...

The new MSB Pro USB interface

Hi Alex, Do you still stand by your assertion that the MSB network renderer v2 with a SoTM switch trumps the sound quality of an audiophile music server (such as the Extreme or N30A)+ProUSB? I imagine over the last couple of years you’ve had an opportunity to crystallize your conclusion on...

Roon End-point for Soulution 760 DAC

Hi SwissTom, Looking forward to hearing your comparison of running Roon via network streamer/etherregen vs an Aurender W20SE (why not the N30?) via USB. Reason I’m interested is that I currently run Roon on a powerful multi core QNAP server on the opposite side of the house, that via a...

Anyone Purchased or Heard Arya Audio AirBlades?

Hi all, I’ve been very happy with the WellFloat Extremes which Chris at Audio Exotics recommended for my Göbel Divin Marquis. He is now suggesting I consider the Ayra AirBlades to augment the capability of the AMT tweeter of this already superb loudspeaker. Would welcome feedback from others...

Center Stage2 "LS" Series Loudspeaker Feet

Yes, Joe, very helpful and thanks for your honest appraisal of my room situation. Sounds like I should explore my floor situation further before I proceed with investing in a cure that that doesn't materially address the root of my problem. Stay tuned and thx again!

Center Stage2 "LS" Series Loudspeaker Feet

Thanks for your thoughtful reply, Joe. So to be specific, let’s say during heavy bass tracks that notably excite my floor and cause the limestone surface to resonate and vibrate, will the design of the CS LS prevent this vibration from being transmitted up from the floor into the speaker cabinet...

Center Stage2 "LS" Series Loudspeaker Feet

Hi Joe, et al, I own Göbel Marquis speakers each weighing in at 350lbs. Oliver (owner designer at Gobel) has gone to great lengths to develop a cabinet that is extremely dense and inert. Saying that, the speakers sit upon a limestone floor on top of a pier and beam foundation that has 4 feet of...

DS Audio Grand Master + EMM Labs DS-EQ1

Thanks Ron…I had concluded from your earlier posts that you were a bit further along in your quest for musical nirvana and this piece of the puzzle had already been decided. However, I understand your desire for a few more data points. Clearly this is a bigger decision than most given the...

DS Audio Grand Master + EMM Labs DS-EQ1

Hi Ron, et al. I’m on the verge of purchasing an Airtight Opus 1. However, one can’t help be intrigued by the enthusiasm the Grand Master has generated across some of the biggest analog enthusiasts in the audiophile community. By any chance do you now have the Grand Master in your system and...

    MSB Select II arrival

Thanks Ron. I appreciate and understand your well articulated points. Ultimately, as much as I’d like for someone to tell me what to do, this is a decision I’ll need to make for myself once my system is reassembled and dialed in. Saying that, I’d still value the perspective of those WBF members...
