TechDAS Air Force Zero (real final photo)

You can like what you like Ked. I wasn't even thinking of what you like or don't like. Mainly because I don't really follow you much. Yeah, add expensive rare LPs to the list of things people think we are all crazy for jacking prices up on ebay. Oh and your edit is truly funny. I am frustrated...

TechDAS Air Force Zero (real final photo)

Oh and before I go. I saw a like and remembered something else. I expressed these very same sentiments when the guys here were raking the WAMM over the coals. Same with the Vox Olympian, same with the dCs stacks etc etc. So before anybody accuses me of my displeasure stemming from my being...

TechDAS Air Force Zero (real final photo)

Nobody knows. As for the yachts I'd venture to guess that of the 50 that might go for the Zero or of whatever number of Apolytes will be made, an extremely small, if any, fraction could afford to buy, berth, man and fuel a luxury yacht even if life on the seas is their ultimate passion. I know...

TLi it looks like I will be holding off on ordering the 12" Da Vinci as I await what TD will bring to market. I hope it will have swappable head shells.

Are SET Amplifiers Less Resolving Than Solid State Amplifiers?

IMO no they aren't. Further also just in my opinion it has been only recently that I've seen SS approach the low level resolution of well built SETs and OTLs.

TechDAS Air Force Zero (real final photo)

Hi G I have no idea. I wanted to go to Tokyo to see it but had commitments here in Manila. Personally, I do think it is stunning as in I was literally stunned. I wish it was all in a good way. I am not fond of brutalist design to be honest but I can also understand why so many parts like the...

TechDAS Air Force Zero (real final photo)

You'll have top forgive me if I don't get what you mean Ked. You've said very little. You've said can't do nuances of classical music, then said "additional nuance" so I guess that means it does but over does it or "calls attention to itself". So I really don't know. I've also never heard an...

Please articulate Ked. Clearly you are after some sweetness, those heart tugs. Maybe another way to put it is expressiveness. Swoon factor, there another topic we can have endless debates over LOL Sure. While I will agree to disagree on tastes, I can not accept the strange anthropomorphisms...

TechDAS Air Force Zero (real final photo)

It is more powerful (hence impressive) than the others therefore it is a color? A characteristic perhaps but a color? Okay so you find them jumpy maybe? So the others are more mellow. Okay, I'm cool with that. Mellow is good. I like mellow when the music is mellow. The funny thing with having...

Lack of color was the design goal. That doesn't mean you have to live without it. Thrown in some mooks then. Go for a colored cart, colored tubes, colored speakers and cables. I'm not against anybody wanting color. That is color you can remove though. What happens when it is color you DON't like...

TechDAS Air Force Zero (real final photo)

I was listening to a Mahler album Jadis delivered this afternoon. The sound was full, sweet and clear with the meters of my amps showing tenths of watts and yes thunderous into the 500s, connsistent character in between. I don't know which nuances you refer to. Where I do take exception is...

Pimped up bass and soundstage? Seriously? All a table does is sit there and spin the plastic. Unless it is introducing massive amounts of resonance, the sound can only be subtractive and not additive. Now if what you get is "pimped out" I hardly think any one component would be fully to blame.

What have you heard BEST of the BEST Systems do that GOOD/ VERY GOOD Systems Don't?

A well composed system set up correctly AND for the right room should get you what Ralph describes. I agree with him totally. For me the acid test is to be able to convey a sense of completeness at very low levels and as said, scale that up when you want to with no issues at least to 100dB. If...

    Not worrying about neutrality

Some people just want to go home, hit play or drop a needle and bliss out. That is perfectly alright as far as I am concerned. For these people why would they want to worry about ANYTHING? Aim for a happy medium and accept the compromises, which by the way is the same solution for analogistas...

Anyone with big, high current amplifier(s) find a power conditioner that doesn't destroy the amplifier's virtues? Is it even possible? Which Ones?

Voltage fluctuations from the wall in general I might add. I remember throwing away my voltage display as it caused too much anxiety LOL That was a decade ago. I got tired of having to live with under and over voltage or waiting for when the nearby mall closed for the night. I've gone battery.

    Is slight turntable wobble normal?

Hi manny tables come with clamping or weight systems that reduce the warpage on the records. Some turntables have periphery rings or vacuums that practically eliminate them. If your collection consists of a fairly high percentage of warped records, I recommend looking at those with the...
