Agreed.... I was mainly referring to the 6 watts that my Art Audio amps put out. The Aurora should shake the house.

    Hello from Seattle

We Welcome Anil, I love your speakers! I've been on the lookout for a nice gently used pair of Trio XD's for a long time. It looks like you've lucked out. I've been offline for a few days so I'm glad Tang hooked me into this thread. I'm real interested in following along with how things...

Albums You Always Listen To Front To Back?

@ptman, I’m totally wit you on the Beatles records. I’d probably throw the White Album, and Rubber Soul in there too; even though they weren’t “conceptualized as such.... Ironically, I find myself in the same frame of mind when I’m listening to many of the great classical symphonic works - go...

    Rock and Drum videos thread

Good question. I was wondering that too.... most of what I am recording is at my normal listening levels. I just go with what sounds good to my ears for that particular cut. Some of the rock drum tracks I was listening to were turned up pretty loud on this end.... I mean, it’s rock and roll...

Hi Tang, Thank you (as always) for the kind words... When my wife and I bought our current home in 2013, I started Building the studio listening room that you see/hear in the videos. The studio is separate from the main house. I’ve Only owned the Avantgarde Duo’s since we’ve been here so no...

Thank you for the compliments Tang... Yes, that’s the EMT, with Mazda’s. I’m still amazed by that phono stage. I kind of went out on a limb when I bought it; having never heard it. Thanks again for your advice with it.

Zero Distortion: Leif's System with TAD 4003 based dual FLH

This is a really interesting thread to read through.... Leif, your speakers sound fantastic! I'd love to build my own horn speakers but hardly know where to start. Aside from the book that was mentioned earlier can anyone recommend some places where I could go to learn more?

NEW - Irish Super Premium Whiskey

I just got a bottle of the Redbreast 27 too. I wasn't super impressed when I first tried it and generally preferred the more tropical, kiwi, green apple brightness of the 21. I re-tasted a couple nights ago and was blown away. I'm not sure if it was my headspace the first time around or if maybe...

What nice wines did you taste this weekend?

I'm not usually a Cali Cab guy but my wife and I had this Chateau Montelena last night with some wood grilled steaks. It was super good. Then some others we shared with friends this weekend.

Hi Mike, I would very much like to come visit you and hear some music at you place some day - I’ll bring the libations! And back at you.... if you’re ever in the austin area, you are always welcome to stop by my place too. From what I have read in some of the other Ortofon’s it sounds like...

Miyajima Labs 1.0 mil Infinity Mono

Hi Mike, I wonder if I can ask you a couple questions? have you compared the Miyajima to any of the other new(ish) mono carts that are coming out? You’re really making me curious about the Infinity, but I’ve also wondered about the Ortofon mono-A. The really high end Grado that Fremer reviewed...

    Iphone is easily overloaded

I thought that the microphones in iPhones were designed, by nature, to limit and compress the incoming signal. It's how they can offer a signal to noise ratio that raises a person's conversational voice above the background noise during a phone call - like a phone should do. Am I wrong about this?

    Turntable Arm Lift - Yamamoto

Hello @eagle3333 , I’m not sure I understand how device works. From your pictures, it seems as if it’s a (very nice) cueing mechanism. Can you give further explanation on how it works at the end of a record? Does it provide an auto lift function ( like this device...

Sensitive Sound Verona - taking it for a spin

Erik, from @Solypsa Audio, noticed from some of my earlier postings on WBF that I was using an SME 3012-1 as one of the main tonearms in my system. He contacted me and wondered if I would be interested in demoing one of the Sensitive Sound cartridges he imports into North America. Evidently, the...

    Which are your future plan?

I have about 1,000-1,500 records that I inherited when my dad passed away last year. It's all stuff that I grew up on and remember from when I was a little kid. I'm hoping to start to reacquaint myself with a lot of those LP's soon. I also just got a new shipment of Panzerholtz, from Canada and...

Japanese Audio: How do the best compare?

Let’s not forget Technics, Pioneer/TAD, Denon... big companies but they make some really good (and some maybe not so good) gear. I love my SP10 Mk.3 turntable and my Denon 103r is pretty cool for the $ too. I have never heard them, but am very interested in ALE and GOTOH drivers. I’d love to be...
