    TT Lighting

We have dedicated lines run for our system. Our LED lights are run on the regular house lines. There’s absolutely no difference, on/off, plugged/unplugged.

Do Mobile Fidelity Vinyl Re-issues Have a Digital Step in the Process?

Here’s a video outlining what is currently in the proposed settlement. The comments under the video are interesting as well.

What about noise? Any perceptible noise using the Horizon?

Ideon Absolute E and Time Demo

Thanks again. If I get it I’ll try it on my TT. Depending on the sound, I may sell my VAC phono Pre. As far as my CD, I’ll keep that on the Vitus Line Stage. I’ve only heard the Signature Pre from Vitus, and I’m receiving the Masterpeice which is above it, but the Signature on CDs is heavenly...

Ideon Absolute E and Time Demo

Thanks. Good idea. We will try that while Fred is here. At least I’ll ask. I‘m hoping our new Vitus Masterpeice Line Stage will be here as well, but most likely not.

    Vitus SM-103 Monos Demo

I'm not sure what Barry is using. I use two Sikora KV12 arms (very good), but Sikora just came our with another arm that is supposed to be even better (KV MAX Zirconium). Sikora himself used a Kuzma on his own table for some time before he created his own tonearm. It should be excellent.

Do Mobile Fidelity Vinyl Re-issues Have a Digital Step in the Process?

First in post 1,062 I said to you, “Mike from Suncoast Audio exchanged emails (dated before the scandal) with another audiophile.” He was commenting on hearing a digital link. Seven (7) minutes later you respond, “I read the thread in due time. As I said, nothing that can be taken as a firm...

Do Mobile Fidelity Vinyl Re-issues Have a Digital Step in the Process?

You are hilarious. The email I referenced is in post #777 of this thread. It was in a direct response to what you asked.:rolleyes::rolleyes: Mike of Suncoast Audio emailed Fremer…. If you go to Mike’s site, he says, “I for one sent multiple emails to Fremer beginning in 2019 and...

Do Mobile Fidelity Vinyl Re-issues Have a Digital Step in the Process?

Please re-read the thread. I know Mike from Suncoast Audio exchanged emails (dated before the scandal) with another audiophile. I believe there’s a video on it in the thread. Others here also recognized it.

Do Mobile Fidelity Vinyl Re-issues Have a Digital Step in the Process?

Do the crime and do the time. MoFi proved to the audiophile community that they were willing to defraud them to make $$$$. And after being caught, they have in essence admitted such both in their responses on their website and now in a settlement. PS: There are some in this thread that noticed...

Do Mobile Fidelity Vinyl Re-issues Have a Digital Step in the Process?

I don’t. I haven’t purchased anything from them in a long time. And I gave away the ones that I had purchased. I no longer purchase from Music Direct either. If you read further up in these posts, you’ll see that I’ve already stated all this before.

Do Mobile Fidelity Vinyl Re-issues Have a Digital Step in the Process?

Who cares about MoFI vinyl. It’s the deceptions, the lies. Some people don’t like lying manufactures. Some prefer not to do business with them or own products made by them.

Who Are Your Favorite DAC Designers?

I’m really enjoying our EMM DA2V2 DAC. It is excellent. It bested everything we heard when we purchased it sometime back. But we will probably be upgrading either to a Lampi Horizon or Ideon Absolute E + Time. So, far the Ideon is in our top spot. But the Horizon will be here soon for a demo.

    Ddk

I learned a lot from reading ddk’s posts. While I understand his decision, I wish he wouldn’t leave. He’s not only an experienced audiophile that all may learn from, but I count him as a friend as well. I believe most of the forum understands the positives he brought to WTB. I think these...

Ideon Absolute E and Time Demo

As far as the Ideon + Time, after it left here it went to a reviewer. A new review should be coming out soon. The reviewer also has a Horizon, so hopefully he will compare the two. I'm waiting to demo the Horizon at present. So, far Ideon is number 1. There’s no competition between it and the...

Can you make the objective case that Qobuz is better than Tidal?

Qobuz at the max only streams up to192, while Tidal streams up to 384. We own both Qobuz and Tidal and primarily use Tidal. If our primary use for a DAC is either Qobuz or Tidal than why have a DAC that does 512, 1024, or 3072 kHz? Yes, I know … but

More Consensus That Streaming Is An Inferior Format & Not High End?

Well I don‘t have my original CD player from back in the day - Sony top loader, can’t remember the model was one of them. That’s why I stated to get the sound “as close as possible.” The nice thing about higher end equipment is it last longer IMO. Therefore, I purchase something that can get me...

More Consensus That Streaming Is An Inferior Format & Not High End?

I enjoy my older music as close as possible to the way I grew up with it. I don’t desire anything added or subtracted from it. I enjoyed it then, and I’m enjoining it today as well. I’ve just purchased a new transport that should maximize the payback of the older songs I enjoy so very much. I...

More Consensus That Streaming Is An Inferior Format & Not High End?

Streaming has noise issues as well. Everything in the audio chain produces noise. The key is learning to control it. The clicks and pops on some vinyl albums is noise as well. But we accept it saying it’s part of the experience. Streaming has a long way to go. It’s still not perfect - never will be…

More Consensus That Streaming Is An Inferior Format & Not High End?

With higher resolution I do hear more - thus the adding digital sound to my ears - and it’s not the sound I’m accustomed to hearing particular music in. Thus, the music sounds off to me. Your concert analogy begins with the point that CD sound is inferior to higher resolution sound, which...

More Consensus That Streaming Is An Inferior Format & Not High End?

A lot of my early listening was on vinyl. However, when CDs first came out I jumped on the convenience bandwagon of CDs. While my 60-70s music was mostly analogue, my 80s music was mostly on CDs. Since my early listening (60s-70s) was on vinyl that‘s the way I prefer it now. I own a lot of old...

More Consensus That Streaming Is An Inferior Format & Not High End?

Yes, I realize what I’m saying, the CD quailty doesn’t need to be improved upon. If your have a quality playback system then CDs of older music the way I use to hear them is all that is necessary or desired. When you add additional digital sound to the recording it sounds off to me. I didn’t...

More Consensus That Streaming Is An Inferior Format & Not High End?

IMO, some audio files sound fake using higher resolution. This is especially true for the older CDs I enjoy. I‘m use to hearing them as close as possible to the way I originally did many moons ago. That’s the sound in my head and so it’s what I expect. While I have enjoyed other music that I’m...
