SOtM sNH-10G Network Switches x2 : The NEW KING of USB/Network Gadget Setup

I tried fiber between an EtherRegen and SOtM with unsatisfactory results. Used several SFP’s and cables, tried single and multi mode. I’m open to try it again before the ER and SOtM.

I had the original Terminator and upgraded the board. It was an improvement and if I remember only a few hundred dollars- worth it. I sold the Terminator and now have a T+. It is another level of better. If you can afford it go for the T+. Now that there is a 12th anniversary version of T+...

    Innuos Statement: Nextgen vs Non-Nextgen

I've been waiting a month to send mine in. The dealer says there are parts issues and Innuos is not taking upgrade orders now.

    Innuos Statement: Nextgen vs Non-Nextgen

I contacted Innuos. They said the DC Cables are not part of the Nextgen upgrade. I had upgraded the cables to the Chord cables a while ago, and the cable change alone was a significant lift in SQ. If I remember correctly, immediately there was a greater blackness. I am wondering where the...

    Innuos Statement: Nextgen vs Non-Nextgen

I contacted a dealer, there is now a parts shortage. I have to wait a month to send in my Statement. So sad. I upgraded the cd cables a year ago thru Chord and it was a definite plus. Do you know if these are the same or similar?

A new star in 2019 : Innuos Statement Server

You are in a pickle. For me, it was easy to choose SQ and move on. I can live with the Sense app and Qobuz. I don't miss paying for Roon.

What ethernet cables are members using?

I use the SOtM dCBL-CAT7u with dCBL-CAT7 LAN cable special edition on my Innuos server, it is pretty impressive. I have several of the dCBL-CAT7 between my 3 switches and have one of the CAT6 cables.

    CD Transport vs Music Server

What are they referring to when they mention the I2S "includes master clock from the DAC" and how does it differ from the typical I2S signal?

    CD Transport vs Music Server

They added an clock signal to the I2S for "best performance". Suggests it needs a better clock. May be the reason its not sounding up to your expectations. Connection to an external D/A-converter Use one of the available S/PDIF outputs (Coaxial, Optical and AES/EBU) or I2S to connect the CD...

Sound Quality of new roon versions (builds)

I suspect that in spite of all the updates Roon will never be as good as the alternatives in an audiophile sense. It is more a tip of the spear cataloging app with a decent player that is more than adequate for the majority of its users.

    CD Transport vs Music Server

Not familiar with the Project but it appears meant to be used with the Pre-amp as it has a better clock. The Jays has an OXCO clock and clock in and out, plus I2S out. Seems like a no brainier, send it back.

Do I really need an " Audio Grade Network Switch "?

Sometimes ignorance is bliss.....and sometimes silly works and always nothing ventured nothing gained. I am OK with trying something new and failing, there is an excitement to trying. And there is a thrill when it works. I learned for me that SFP's and fiber was different than ethernet but...

Do I really need an " Audio Grade Network Switch "?

I didn't think it was complicated or expensive, the cost of 2 SFP's and fiber is just a few hundred dollars, of course I tried more than a few SFP's and some were just bad and others interesting but fatiguing to me in the long run. It seems to work for some. But based on my experience I agree...

Do I really need an " Audio Grade Network Switch "?

I second the recommendation for the etherregen and a LPS to start with. I also have a SOtM switch and English Electric 8 switch and use all 3. I ran fiber between the Etherregen and SOtM and did not like the sound after trying several SFP's and fibers have gone back to ethernet- I like the...

Just installed the Black Cat digital cables between the Iris and Terminator Plus. Immediate change. Removed a level of congestion I hadn't noticed. Low end is more detailed defined and very rich. More air and reverb. Better separation of instruments. I just realized I have spent more on...

New to music servers - Melco N1zs vs the rest…

I've never heard the Melco but reviews are very positive. I ran Roon with my Statement both as a server/endpoint and as an endpoint with an Antipodes Core running Roon core with a crazy 3 switch network with 2 of the switches clocked to a Mutec Ref 10. I dumped Roon as soon I heard the then...

SOtM sNH-10G Network Switches x2 : The NEW KING of USB/Network Gadget Setup

I have a Mutec REF10 on an ER and SOtM and it is very beneficial for quietness and timing and presence. I had Finisar/Finisar between the ER and SOtM and very recently went back to a SOtM dcbl-cat7 and to me the copper is much sweeter and richer with the low end much more fleshed out. I will...

Holo Audio May KTE Digital Input Selection?

I have a Denafrips Terminator Plus and use I2S input. I have an Innuos Statement and the USB output is very good but using a DDC to I2S makes it better with the Terminator. The I2S cable is very important just like a USB cable. Like USB the clock of the I2S device is very important. My DDC...

SOtM sNH-10G Network Switches x2 : The NEW KING of USB/Network Gadget Setup

A good clock can make a big big difference. I use a Mutec Ref10 for both the EtherRegen and SOtM as one needs a 50 Ohm and the other 75 Ohm input.

" There are no speakers; there are no walls." - A brief summary of Allnic's current Line Stage (preamplifier) product line.

Pretty sure it was Genalex Gold Lions. One of the tubes went bad and I needed a replacement. I thought the sound was good before it went out but I am impressed at the improvement. I wasn't ready to spend crazy money on tubes. I am waiting to upgrade to the L-8000...

    MQA, Worse than FLAC?

I admit my memory is faulty but I thought when MQA was first released it was targeted to audiophiles. I thought the point or hype of MQA was to correct the file to take it back to a replica of the original Master by undoing changes made by the ADC process. I think only an audiophile or a nut...
