Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

My Horizon is arriving … one of these days! I’m looking at the best way to connect it. Most interested in USB. I’d think about BNC, Coaxial etc. What are Horizon owners using? Tchernov? Snake River Boomslang? Not wanting a debate about which digital type of cable is best. Just what’s being used...

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

A friend has asked if it’s possible to order different colors of the top plate that the tubes rest on? They want to know how easy it would be to say buy 3 different covers and change them out to best match equipment over time.

Do Tubes Homogenize the Sound of Our Music?

I’ve read through the comments. I believe all systems will have their own sound as there are way too many variables to ever have any system exactly alike. But over time they should sound more homogenous in a way. After all many want their tube amps to sound more linear and more linear like some...

Anyone try the USAF 596 rectifier nick named, “Frankie” on the Horizon? It’s the best I found to use on my Pacific.

Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

Lampizator DACs (except for the single ended only ones) have always been built truly balanced without op amps or any such gimmicks. Yoda has written previously about the balanced designs for the Pacific, Golden Gate, Big 7, and Atlantic TRP. He would not compromise the design. I can’t say I’ve...

    Coda no 16 amplifier

Thanks Dr. k. For answering. I’ve never compared CODA and Pass amps. I predict there would be similar family sounds between Threshold, Pass Lab, and CODA amplifiers. CODA much less expensive then Pass Labs. The CODA guys keep costs down by using the same chassis for amps and preamps. And of...

    Coda no 16 amplifier

One thing I really appreciate from the CODA 0.7x and two 15.99 (15.5 updated to 16) is the ease of tuning my system. Change a tube, adjust the contour on the Legacy Audio Wavelet, change footers, add a VPI brick, swap interconnects, power cords, speaker cables, change fuse direction, adjust...

I’ve had m 07x now several months. I believe since November. Preamps I’ve owned before ARC Sp 3A1, SP 6b, Ref3, Acoustat TNP, The Dude, CODA CP, Levinson 32 and 380s and I’ve had in my system the two chassis Pass Lab (sorry I don’t remember the model from about 4 years ago) Gryphon Sonata, and...

Does DSP belong in State of the Art Systems?

I don’t prefer analog vs digital both systems can sound awesome. And some of my favorite LPs will never be digitized. Audio is a great hobby.

I have a SOTA Sapphire with Audioquest cartridge that I feed into my CODA 07x preamp. But someday I’d line to have an all analog system with Magnepans.

I too have played around with the Dirac Live and Audessy DSP systems. To me In my home theater system the results I get with both Dirac Live and Audessy are variations in sound quality not necessarily better. I’ve also experimented with the DSP in Roon and with the software included with my...

Does DSP belong in State of the Art Systems?

Hi, I use DSP in my system all of the time. In fact my Legacy Audio V speaker system uses the Wavelet to provide DSP, preamp, crossover, and DAC duties. One can choose which features to use. I use Wavelet for DSP and crossover duties. Compared to many systems its DSP is very easy to use. Set up...
