    Emm labs DA2 v2 upgrade

Is this upgrade a new one which has not yet been introduced? Or the old one from last year?

    Emm labs DA2 v2 upgrade

If the power amp is either the MTRX1 or 2, the EMM pre or DV2 is of course the most appropriate and natural choice

    Emm labs DA2 v2 upgrade

I’m using the Conrad Johnson GATs2 preamp with the DA2V2. However, the synergy between pre and power amps are also important if not more important.

    Emm labs DA2 v2 upgrade

Shall I say only one optical input at the DAC2V2? If you have the TX2 and NS1 you’re in trouble……..

    Emm labs DA2 v2 upgrade

Agree. The Aural Symphonics takes the TX2/DV2S2 to a new level. I also have the NS1 but found SQ is acceptable but TX2/DA2S2 is magical so NS1 is not being used now. Please note my NS1 is probably not optimized as its not paired with any LPS/audiophile switches etc. So my experience with the...

The Q7’s binding posts are also in the middle. it was said that it would make the shortest connection to the midrange.

    Emm labs DA2 v2 upgrade

How does the piano sound, as you mentioned it's a big deal for you? BTW, the V2 gets more natural sounding as it runs in more, and one forgets about everything hifi but is attracted by the music alone. The improvement is so substantial which leads me to think how far is the V2 from the best...

    Emm labs DA2 v2 upgrade

Thanks Bar81 I was wondering if my Aural Symphonics is an older model. Not all optical cables are alike. An audiophile friend who makes industrial optical cables asked his engineers to compare the stock EMM, Jadis and Aural Symphonics cables. Under microscope all three cables have different...

    Emm labs DA2 v2 upgrade

I sold my DAV2X v1 for the DA2 v1 when the latter was introduced. The DA2v1 was far better.

Hi Bar81, Your TX2 is listed as SE. Is it an upgraded version?

    Emm labs DA2 v2 upgrade

Hi Bar81, Like you, I am using the TX2 with an Aural Symphonics cable to the upgraded DA2v2. After nearly a monthly listening to the V2, I consider it a masterpiece from EMM. Though others consider bass as the biggest improvement, for me the accuracy of musical instruments' timbre and delicacy...

    Chronosonic XVX.

There's always comments behind the back, or direct communication to please. Only the person commenting knows if it's true.

    Chronosonic XVX.

I haven't heard the XVXs, but the owner received very favorable comments from friends who knows his system well. Apparently there was a good improvement after adding the latest MIT speaker cable.

    Emm labs DA2 v2 upgrade

Thanks Bar81 for explaining the difference in performance between the two. I was wondering the rationale for having the V2 if both have the same performance.

    Audioquest Hurricane Power Cord

I had one each of Dragon HC, source and three Hurricane HCs. The Hurricanes performed quite differently on various components. It was better than the Vahalla2 on the First Watt Sit 3 and the EMM Labs TX2 player. Thinking that they were such good value I bought 2 more, hoping they could replace...

    Audioquest Hurricane Power Cord

Hi Ayreman, I see you’ve changed to Furutech plugs. I have Dragons and Hurricanes but found the IEC ends don’t fit perfectly the equipment ends well and get loose easily, which is not ideal. Did you experience this? Did changing to Furutech improve this fit and SQ? Thanks!

Hi Yuen, does this upgrade need to be done at EMM? Thanks

CJ: New 40th Anniversary ART Amps

Some more info for you if you’re considering the synergy between a CJ power amp with Wilson speakers. When the Art amps were introduced 8-9 years ago we tested a Gat1 and Art amps on the Maxx2 (or 3?) and we never heard the Maxx sounded so good. Currently a friend uses the Gat2 and Art300...

CJ: New 40th Anniversary ART Amps

He has a SME30 “just for use when friends visit” according to him. Hifi is not his first priority like many of us. The Dream player has taken the local community by storm with probably 5 to 6 owners already. Shortly after the introduction of this player Metronome introduced a 30th anniversary...
