Ha, but how do your shins look.
Way that most prominent bone there is positioned you maintain a deep visual reference of past errors that never fades.

After a while it gets to be very rare to scrape shins on pedals, probably because of how incredibly painful it can be be. The scars do fade in about a year or two, lol. That said, once every several years I may need a wound closure strip to repair a pin-on-shin incident.

More than a few years back I was riding in the Canadian Rockies and stopped atop one of the passes to read the tourist signs and gawk at the spectacular scenery. All kitted out, young, strong (and devilishly handsome ;)) I was leaning over the bars with one foot still clipped in, striking a pre-race, front of the pack pose when a convertible with a group of very attractive young women pulled up — and with one foot clipped in I promptly lost my balance and fell over!
Ditto. To add insult to injury she helped me get up. It happened in rush hour downtown DC. Luckily cellphone camera not invented yet.

I think an increasingly larger group are getting the wrong ideas from our recollections. At no point did you mention failing to show up or sneak out of work to ride with a minor flesh wound.

Perils of dismounting don't just exist at heightened speeds and excitement levels. Tipping over from a standstill is recognizably more dangerous than most crashes end up being. Great potential to produce a traumatically shocking impact with minimal ability to disperse it across a wider area exists.

It wasn't out of a lack of experience that I cautioned Christoph on e-jumping a bike.

Maybe someday he'll report back on how broadly he ignored any advice in that direction. :p
I'm a serious coward :p

I have put some miles on the Cannondale. I removed the aero bars. Put on new handlebar tape. Installed new pedals and adjusted the brakes. It came fitted with new Michelin 700x23 tires that I inflated to 80 psi.
Other than having to reach to the down tube to shift gears, I hardly realize how old it is. It is fast, nimble and reasonably comfortable. I try to ride it daily.

Anyone live in Madison WI. I want a Trek sport FX5 and someone has to physically sign for the bike to be sent out of state.

What a curious state of affairs. Would you kindly provide more details before my mind runs wild.

Trek's worldwide HQ is located a few miles away in Waterloo WI for those unaware.

This is a condensed story:
This bike is out of stock in WA.
By a Bike I mean a Carbon FX Sport 5.

WA Trek was telling me they have non in stock. I though they were looking nationwide, they were looking local.
I looked at all the independent bike shops that carry Trek and other brands. Its 4 months from a local dealer to get a bike. Its about 3 months from a Trek store to get one local.

I looked online and found an independent retailer with 2 in stock. They are in WI. They were good people and said they could mail me the bike.
When I actually tried to order, they said Trek would not let them sell the bike unless someone came in personally to sign for it.

I then messed with the Trek site and made the map show me locations outside WA and searched in Portland OR. I found stores down there and called and found the bike.
I have other business in Portland so I will drive down and pick up the bike.

FWIW, I tried to pay for the bike today. The store I would pick it up at is closed on Tuesday. The store I was talking too said they can not process a sale for other Trek outlets. Seems they are independent operations.

I also was told, If I purchase from a Trek store in OR, I can still get the 30 day and 6 month tune for free. At least Trek is Trek across the country.

Of course, when I get the bike I am going to ask the mechanic to show me how to make the minor adjustments to the detailer and other items that need maintenance. That is stuff I like to know to be on top of. Its not audio, its bikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is exactly as I suspected to a T. Pun intended.

Glad you found one in PDX.

i had a similar problem with the Audio Physic Virgo. my local dealer would not discount. I found an out of state dealer who would. My local dealer said he would report the dealer if he made an "unauthorized" discount and encroached on his sales area. Rather than deal with all that I just bailed out.

But this a different case.
It is not about a discount but more about availability at all.

I pick this up in the next day or so. Whenever I get to Portland. OR.

Anyone down there want to hand out for a while?
