A minority by now.
yeah i'm in that minorty due to the android install being a bit of an undertaking that i haven't had time to do. i'm sure it's not so bad but after a day of work i don't want to be configuring android, just listen - if that, usually just nflx and sleep lol. i'm considering getting an ipad to save my self the time...but regardless, reading all the comments on here about the beta i'm deff getting fomo and berating myself for being lazy :)

I am also one of the minority. One of the options I heavily relied on Roon is the automatic identification of album function. I have many albums with the tagging identified by Roon but not in the ID3 tag that comes with the files. I am worried that all these information will be loss after I switched to TAS.

That is what will likely happen but you can use Roon to identify stuff that needs to be correctly tagged and then do it. I realize that is a lot of work but it will allow you to unlock the full potential of the Extreme.

I have a Samsung A40 and a Lenova M8, and the install of the Taiko Audio App apk on both was a snap

The Android app works just as well as the iOS app

Installing the TAS Beta, leaves the roon installation untouched, and fully functional. With the Taiko App, you can switch back and forth no problem between roon and TAS

We are starting the migration of the existing TAS/LMS Database structure to a new Database structure, which will have Taiko's own scanner software making the entries. For sure the new scanner software will locate everything in the Extreme's stored Music Library and be able to populate the tagging tables intelligently.

In the new database structure we will be implementing additional tables which will allow Classical Listeners to search in "listening session logical" fashion

Ed, will the user be able to choose between their own tags and the Extreme library tags?

Yes, definitely.

This is the raison d'etre for building TAS's own database to allow additional tables and fields such as the user's own tags

Our goal is to leave no meta data behind

Ed, is TAS Beta v2 still LMS-based?

TAS v2 is still LMS based

we want to deliver v2 sooner rather than later with low hanging fruit fixes
Ed

Will tas v2 require individual appointments or will it be upgradable from the app?

I assume tas v2 is required for the new usb card?

Will the new usb card require an appointment or can we do that installation ourselves? I've already contacted a crane operator to schedule his equipment (or maybe a forklift will suffice) to lift the extreme out of my rack to insert the new usb card.

Really looking forward to the usb card

TAS v2 will be installable without an appointment

v1 has the hooks built in to bring in v2.

An update of the Taiko App will need to be installed

The new USB card is plug and play and works with roon and all versions of TAS

To install the new USB card, one needs to

- unscrew and remove top cover

- unscrew one screw to remove the PCIe blank plate

- plug in USB card into the PCIe slot and remount the screw

- put the top cover back on and bolt down

- plug in USB cable and enjoy after booting up

Installed the new USB board. Turned on the Extreme/pre/amp on all dead cold. From the first 10 seconds it was like going from driving down the road in a really nice car, hit the up button and the car turned into a helicopter. Off and away.

It's MUCH MORE than icing on the TAS/usb driver cake. It's REALLY SIGNIFICANT. Seat belts on:)

Don't these cards require some burn in time? Every card I have used required at least 100 hours to settle in. I assume the clock needs some hours on it to stabilize, especially after being powered.
