This is fantastic. The Karajan sample looks and sounds great (on my phone).

I'm a bit confused; if I sign up through Amazon, does it then play via FireTV?

I signed up for the trial on the same night as the Met's Carmen was being streamed. Therefore I didn't have much time to experiment, but it looks like a very good service.

Turn off Netflix and listen and watch Kirill Petrenko conduct Mahler's 6th Symphony!

https://www.digitalconcerthall.com/en/concert/52522

Free until the end of March.

The Sixth Symphony is one of Mahler’s most unsettling pieces: turmoil and idyll, triumph and catastrophe, march and chorale, confidence and resignation, nature, life and death – Mahler combines it all to create a vast musical cosmos.

I wish it was easier to get the 30 days on my TV. I downloaded the Digital Hall app onto my Android. I'll do my Mac next.
Is anybody watching on their TV?

Hi Guys,

I have a subscription to the digital concert hall and have been streaming the concerts to my Roku and then into my main system (Roku to Toslink cable into a Pacific DAC, with HDMI into the Projector TV ( no sound on this path)).

We really enjoy the performances, however the sound is just not very good.
I would describe it as distant. Generally I need to raise the volume by an extra 6-10DB on the PAC to get anywhere near normal listening levels, but even then the dynamics are muted. I an tell that they are really doing a wonderful job with the video production, however the sound is just not captivating at all.

Has anyone worked on a good to great capability to enjoy this streaming subscription service?

I use the Berlin Philharmonic app on my Apple TV and Amazon cube.

It is great!

I suggest playing the Von Karajan Beethoven 5th from 1966.

It will blow you away!

The dynamic conducting is unbelievable.

A master at his prime.

You need a good stereo playback system to get the full effect!

IMO the Roku has poor picture and sound quality compared to the Amazon cube or Apple TV.
After all it is the cheap alternative.
