Ddk gave me a 15 meter pair long ago. Of course I tried because they were free. Unfortunately, they were nothing near what I am using. I am fed up with cables Howie. No budget for cable.8m of Radio Shack speaker cable is cheap Tang

May be you need active speakers with no cables. Seriously though, what speaker cables are you hooked up with now, just out of interest?Ddk gave me a 15 meter pair long ago. Altec FLH ( as good as they are ) are mid bass horns...below that they are bass reflex essentially.
Re: the TAD bass horns, I suspect they might benefit from a good ( loud ) running in. Put on some trentmoller, turn off main speakers, and give them a workout
You can "Feel" the difference once turning on/off. That physicality of sound I talk about. I have to get used to looking at King Kong nasal posing at me though. And with the big subs between the main speakers the presentation move a bit more up front to where you listened when you visited me. After I changed the front wall acoustic the presentation went away farther. So now back to where it was. Listening to my favorite Heifetz with piano is now Even better than before. The whole piano housing is like right there. The increase in presence in piano make the listening even more like there there live.Tang, what happens when you have the subs switched off? Just the physicality of the subs in front of the horns must have changed the sound considerably?
I am using Kuro cables from Italy. I like to support Italian artisan.May be you need active speakers with no cables. Seriously though, what speaker cables are you hooked up with now, just out of interest?
Of course. But once I do that you tell me another 10 things to do to cross check me.Can you play the piano with the bass horn switched off?

Bruce D suggested to move the horns back behind the speakers. I hear no negative having it in front right now. Audioquattr now has them way infront and to his side wall I think.
Was mingling with the cross over and adjustment quite a bit yesterday. The Lamm's are now on the bass horn...not the best place to be but will play around later. All equipments were unplugged for 2-3 weeks. Normally my system takes 3-4 days to get back from a break. It is sounding pretty good actually. This is quite a learning process. Ddk advised me a few things. I dont take his advises right out. Have no 30 yrs experience like him, Gian, Mike and others in this forum. So, I want to have fun and learn hearing everything myself with each change in variable at a time. The bass horns add physicality to the sound. I had great presence with the highs and micro details from my system, the bass horns seem to add presence and physicality further but from mid down. The tonal texture is denser. The bass is kind of like you dont hear it but you feel it. My friends with Magico subs said these bass horns are shit big huge but no grunt like his.

Sawasdee G,Superb, the sustain and decay is mesmerising.
Bravo you.
Kindest regards,G.
Yes, it is that one. Apart from click n pop, this recording is phenomenal. In room realism is through the roof...so as that piano recording. I have no knowledge of different violin sounds. And you certainly has more advance ears than I do Andrew. I have no clue to what I hear in what hertz.hi Tang
is that Heimo Haitto from Gabriell records 2453
the Chaconne from B?ch partita no2 in D minor ?
to me there is something weird about his sound of the violin , like the treble is not in sync or too high compared with midrange it’s very weird sounding to me imho about 3khz
I want to respond to your comment Shane. But that would probably get me into a few days suspension from this forum.Tang. just get young girls to dance for you on top of the subs ( pole optional) - you will forget the subs presence and whether they are on or off
Sawasdee G,
The vinyls you gave just sound so good. The more I listen to these old records the more I think why we can no longer have this kind of recording in today's much more advance tech. Precious.
Kindest regards,
Tang
