Vogel interviewed for the position on Thursday and reportedly left a good impression on general manager Rob Pelinka. Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times reports that Jason Kidd will join Vogel's staff as an assistant coach.

The 45-year old Vogel did not coach last season following two years with the Orlando Magic. He arrived in Orlando following five-plus seasons leading the Indiana Pacers, including two trips to the Eastern Conference finals in 2013 and '14.

Former Memphis Grizzlies coach J.B. Bickerstaff interviewed with the Lakers on Thursday, according to reports.

A little more than a week ago, the Lakers were thought to be close to reaching a deal with former Cleveland Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue. However, Lue pulled out of talks with the Lakers for the job, reportedly declining the team's three-year, $18 million offer to coach there.

The Lakers have been without a coach since Luke Walton and the team agreed to part ways shortly after the 2018-19 season ended.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Frank Vogel better keep an eye over his shoulder as the Lakers also hired Jason Kidd as an assistant. I wouldn't trust Kidd of I were Vogel.

Im sure Kidd was hired to be the liaison between management and the King and yes if Vogel goes down then Kidd just might assume the position.
Doesn't Vogel hire his assistant staff

They better stock up with a lot of paper cups for Kidd's out of time out antics. :)

The hard part is the head coach will be coaching 11 players and 1 playing sub coach, or even the main coach.

Kyrie Irving reportedly eyeing playing for Lakers next season

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst — one of the foremost LeBron Whisperers — Irving is growing more open to the possibility of signing with the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency.

"I would’ve said that this is impossible for many months,” Windhorst said on ESPN radio. “But as time passes here and as the possibility exists that Jason Kidd could be hired as the Lakers coach, I think the possibility of Kyrie and LeBron reuniting—that door, which was deadbolted, has been un-deadbolted and has now been cracked open," he said. "It might even be opening more by the day. And I say that just because I think it’s on Kyrie’s radar, it’s on Kyrie’s board. He has had discussions with people about playing for the Lakers.”

I just heard Chris Broussard on Fox Undisputed saying: "Next season, Kyrie doesn't have to be Batman, he may not even have to be Robin, he can be Alfred." :D

Truth to be told, Kyrie is said to have burned the bridges with his team mates when he called them out publicly for not playing as a team and THEN called LeBron to apologize for wanting to be traded. It seems he was regretting getting out of Cleveland because his team mates did not live up to expectations. I'd be surprised if he ops in with Boston.

I started watching the Nuggs v Blazers early in the 2nd period. Blazers were down 19. I thought it was over. Not so as the Blazers hung around and finally took the lead and held on to a one point lead and finally won

96-93

Curry vs Curry in the conference final

Wow, amazing rally by the Blazers on the road. TJ McCollum is a Robin who became a Batman. What a guy. And Evan Turner became the Iggy of the Blazers - veteran clutch shots down the line. Tough loss at home for the Nuggets.

What a nail biter. Leonard wins it at the buzzer as the ball bounced 3 times on the rim before going in

And so the final 4 are set as Raptors win

Raptors vs Bucks

Blazers vs Warriors

Remember Bucks hold home court throughout

What a game! Kawhi is Batman. 41 points, 8 rebounds, 43 minutes. Superman too. That trickle in game winning shot, I've never seen something like that to end a game, let alone a game 7. That is worth another look. I was rooting for the Raptors, want to see Kawhi vs Giannis in the ECF. Both teams loaded with talents.

That ball boucing around reminded me of Tiger's Nike ball falling in after his chip on the 16th of Augusta. What a classic finish!

Jack, I can think of the 2008 final four

LAL vs SAS - Kobe, Pau vs Duncan, Parker (Spurs were the defending champions)

Boston vs Detroit - KG, Pierce, Allen vs Rip Hamilton, Billups and Prince
