the Durand Record Weight; love it!

Hi Mike, I am in the throws of trying to purchase one of these lovely record weights but...I can't seem to get a clear answer on the depth of the spindle hole? I am using a Kuzma Stabi M turntable and it has quite a tall spindle as similar to say a VPI Classic, approx 1" inch tall. Any help...

    In praise of idlers

Yes, I have heard the amazingly good Kuzma XL DC, and for me it was a really tough choice between that and the Stabi M, they are closer than you think, in some ways the M can seem to have slightly more get up and go, but not always the case. I do think that the XL DC wins in bass slam but they...

    In praise of idlers

Yes, I would say that inertia has got a lot to do with it. A very good friend of mine has a really nice Garrard 401. There are some belt drives that can do the same thing! Think of the Kuzma Stabi XL - DC and the Kuzma Stabi M...up to full platter speed in 5 seconds for XL - DC and 2 seconds for...

    Kuzma Stabi M

Hi again, Well I decided to go for the Stabi M in 'walnut' finished plinth, after emailing Franc Kuzma I was informed that Definitive Audio was now the new UK Distributor after 31 years! So I contacted Kevin Scott, and he said that he had one demonstrator M which was used at the Munich Hi - Fi...

Hi, I managed to find one for myself! The same finish as yours, in 'walnut' I got a really good deal too, they are very hard to find here in the U.K.

Well, I thought I'd let you know that I decided to go for the Stabi M turntable finished in 'walnut' it's in pristine shape too, and has been a static piece mainly, but it was demonstrated at the Munich HiFi show last year! Apparently it was one of the best sounding rooms there! I can't wait to...

It's in the bag! I just received an email from my Kuzma dealer saying that I can purchase his static demo 'walnut' version Stabi M, a great deal on it too, I do feel very lucky indeed. :)

Yes, the Stabi M sure is a great sounding deck, and it will probably be my next turntable that's for sure.

Oh OK, Mr Branko Bozic. He's never been a very understanding kind of guy! Lol. I have had dealings with him myself. My opinion is, I don't think he was a huge fan of the Kuzma Stabi M because he always tried to push the Stabi XL, XL 2, XL 4 and XL - DC.

The wood finished plinth looks like 'walnut' is it real wood? As the black version is 'aluminium' painted black.
