    Sorry if this is a dumb question, how good is the DAC in the HD preamp, do you need a separate dac in the chain such as Tube Dac or HD Dac X? Anyone with first hand experience listening to dac (Tube Dac or Dac X) alone and then introduce the HD preamp? Thanks.

    I heard the Lampi Pacific back to back with tube dac, hands down Nagra all day; engaging, organic, live performance.

    Seriously going the the opposite direction. I thought my Lampi PAC was the cat’s meow and compared it to the tube dac in the same system. Sold the Pacific and got the tube dac the very next week. Don’t do it unless you like you music colored.

    Dealer also recommends the whole synergy with Luxman pre and as a matter of fact I’m using the Luxman c900 right now and 10Mx is already better 20 with only 20 plus hours in. I’m only asking because I have the nagra tube dac and wonder if the HD Preamp would be “better” and would look sick.

    Im considering pairing a tube preamp. Any suggestions or thoughts. I’m using a borrowed Luxman preamp c900 u which sounds wonderful but as always looking for “better” lol. And it has to go back.

    Appreciate the helpful insight. I’m planning on running the M10x in mono mode and maybe add a tube preamp stage for that touch of analog sound. So glad jump on the Gryphon and thank you for confirming I made the correct choice.

    So would 2 m10 x give better results than gryphon evo? From the description the Gryphon antileon evo has been dubbed the tube SS amp with the strengths of both tube and SS however some says it’s “dark”. Not looking for anything that’s laid back and slow.

    Thanks for the insight. I believe the gryphon antileon evo in particular will give me that Luxman sound and perhaps more slam in the bass.
