Yours were possibly the last pair though, as mentioned earlier ours were the last pair from an overseas dealer.
We'll be moving the whole setup coming June, he's moving home so we'll be packing them back up sometime soon. in related news, the Gryphon Mephisto and the pre-amp have been sold and...
Those acoustic panels are wooden frames with Rockwool inside them. there are a total of 4 present in the room, they are triangular in shape, so even though they look flat from the front, they actually contain a large volume of wool, at the deepest point these are about 3 foot, and 9 foot high.
Thanks everyone for your input.
While I feel the discussion is interesting, I already know my dad won't place them any different as they are set up now. So that ends that.
The one thing I've learned over the many years of listening to high end and top end, is that the closer to the top you...
Sorry about the late reply, I promised to post the picture of the inverted setup. Instead of going through the effort of peeling it out of the PDF it exists in, I'll just post the link.

Scroll down a few pages. and there you go, a...
Hi Ron,
I will add a picture later that shows another pendragon setup using this exact same placement (it can be found in a PDF on the gryphon website, and I'll post the details later when I have access to my laptop)
Anyway, to answer your question, in our room the bass towers are...
The second person may actually benefit from inverting the panels.
Edit: Just to make sure people don't think I'm making this up to cover up for a 'mistake' on our end.
Here goes, straight from the manual.
I rest my case *sound of hammer*
Hello Gary,
We are aware of this, but it is not without reason that they are placed the way they are.
The placement of the mids and high are related to the width of the listening space. Most rooms are a little larger or wider than the one my dad has. In the case of my dad's room dimensions it...
You'd be wrong however. We have custom Siltech cable laying around that was ordered and picked up straight from Siltech. Their blue sleeves are one of a kind. Underneath the Kharma cable's own black sleeve there is that unmistakable blue sleeve of Siltech. A few weeks ago we polished the Kharma...
I'd love to come up with some audiophile gibberish (I love that colorful language with barely any meaning, its like reading a wine review)
But really, they were fantastic from the start. Ribbon speakers do not change much if at all in terms of coloration, placement or speed. As for the bass...
Hi Ron,
I'm going to have to get back to you about the exact dimensions of the room. you can expect that post somewhere today.
-EDIT: the room is 20 by 23 foot, but its also 23 foot high (we do have dampening around the upper walls as well)
The speakers are 6.5 foot away from the back wall...
Frankly, It was astonishing from the get go. We were merely warming up the equipment and not even actively listening when I knew this was special. I've heard a lot, I'm used to a lot. This, this is something else.
Give this a few weeks and it will only get better. But we sat down that day and...
And this is how it ended up, these are positioned with the help of a laser. re-positioning them on a hard granite floor isn't that hard, and although there are no pictures of it, erecting the speakers took no more than two people.
Total time including unloading crates: approximately 4 hours...
