The new audiophile vinyl series The Original Source from Deutsche Grammophon (AAA)

TE Tuner for iPhone. My speakers are bespoke, with two small boxes with two Beyma 12” in each for frequencies below 45 Hz. Boston Symphony Hall is correct. I find it astonishing that they’ve put 16,4 Hz on an LP. I didn’t believe my ears so I measured. It sure makes visitors here say What! too.

I and others have measured one octave below in-room. I guess that’s the long pipe.

I ended up cancelling my iMusic order of the big Bruckner box. I bought the 4-9 set from Presto as a 24/192 download for less than 1/10 of the price. Heretical, I know.

Near Or Far Field Listening For This Room?

I have a 240 cm (8 ft) ceiling too. I killed* the first reflection from it with 10 cm thick 180*120 cm absorber. *at least above say 400 Hz.

I revisited the Steinberg Zarathustra with the TETuner app on my iPhone. It insists that the lowest frequency in the opening is 16,4 Hz. Impressive and unexpected. I have appx 6 dB attenuation total at 15 Hz from vinyl in my system.

What are you currently listening to (Classical)?

Gave this one a view earlier tonight. Excellent. RIP Seiji Ozawa. https://www.arte.tv/de/videos/079456-000-A/seiji-ozawa-dirigiert-beethovens-siebte-symphonie/

Does DSP belong in State of the Art Systems?

Your mids and tops are processed though. ASP'd as Siegfried Linkwitz would have said it.

Does DSP belong in State of the Art Systems?

Headroom comes in handy, especially in a phono amp where ticks and pops can lead to saturation. I haven't looked closely at the specs of RME ADI-2 version with digital RIAA. I've noticed that the Pareks Audio Puffin is adequate, but as much as I would like those tuning possibilities I still...

I’ll pass on it. Today I’m streaming Bamberg/Hrusa’s 4 cd set of no. 4. That’s my Bruckner!

Does DSP belong in State of the Art Systems?

My AD-converter is the modest one in a Yamaha WXC-50, sampling 24/48 with some 90 dB effective DR. Enough for vinyl by some 20 dB… Maybe the late Siegfried Linkwitz could have made a four way crossover for my dipoles but with full range DSP which my system was constructed with 15 years ago (dsp...

^Yamaha Enhancer adds 2nd order distortion to the deep bass. Ok for your mono kitchen streamer speaker I guess.

    System for Under US$10,000 MSRP

A Thorens TD 1601 with an AT VM540ML (he manages to change a stylus I hope) straight into a pair of KEF LS60 Wireless. Yes I know they can stream and connect to your tv but that’s just bonus. If he doesn’t like the Thorens get the entry level Linn LP12 Majik with Adikt.

I want the Bartok, unsure about those other three Bs.

I haven't had any tracking issues on the TOS series so far, knock on wood (i.e. head). BTW to me it sound like the organ plays the same octave as the basses and the contrabasson in the Steinberg Zarathustra opening, and not one octave below, Makes sense technologically to do so too.
