    1160 amp problem?

Just in case anyone is still reading this thread: support from Boulder and from their UK distributors YG Acoustics was exemplary. A new board was made up by Boulder and delivered to YG in Cambridge. Their top guy Chris Rees and colleague brought the board here on Monday and fitted and tested in...

    1160 amp problem?

Thanks, A-A! Agreed, build quality seems superb so am hoping when the promised new board arrives it will be easy for Brett the Tech to fit. Jeff

    1160 amp problem?

Thanks Joey - will bear in mind and check with Logan R at Boulder later once the amp is fixed. Which Boulder unit(s) do you have?

    1160 amp problem?

At the moment I don;t know because still waiting for more info. But it looks as though it was connected with a brief power outage affecting our area at about 23.20 GMT last Monday. I had switched pre- and power to standby as usual at 22.00 hrs that evening but first noticed the light the...

    1160 amp problem?

Thanks to all for suggestions. I've connected Boulder and they say they will need to make up a replacement board for 1160 and get it to me in the UK in the next week or so. But your suggestions enabled me to eliminate lots of possible causes including my own stupidity - so many thanks, Jeff

    1160 amp problem?

Thanks to both for your suggestions, all of which I've tried, but amp still showing constant red. I've emailed Boulder to get contact for repairs here in the UK. Thanks again. Jeff

    1160 amp problem?

Thanks for this - the manual does indeed refer to the DC offset detection (but I'm not a tech guy).. And it also says reset the breakers on the rear panel. But it doesn't say what the breakers look like - Joey above says they are the 4 circular buttons, two on each side of the mains power...

    1160 amp problem?

I assume those are the ones numbered 6, 12, 12, 6? Press in any order? "Unit off" means with the unit attached to the mains but with the rear panel switch at OFF? Thanks again. Sorry to be so dim. Jeff

    1160 amp problem?

Thanks joey_v. Didn't know there is a kill switch as well as the rear panel main on/off (left/right) switch. I can't see any reference to it in the manual so can't locate it. Can you help again, please? V grateful. Jeff

    1160 amp problem?

Have a feeling my 1160 is ill. Front light showing steady red. Have tried connections, switches, etc etc but no dice. This looks like an issue for the dealer/importer unless I have missed something. Yes/ No? Many thanks. Jeff

    Powerline adapter problems?

That last line is the key in my limited experience. We have a number of Devolo powerline adaptors around the house which work really well for extending internet reception but are a menace for the audio system. The Boulder 508 picked up all kinds of rubbish when (briefly) on the same spur as a...

    My new 2160

Hi IB Tragically I've just been researching some of your fantastic gear and can only report a stratospheric envy rating... I think I must at least get a new needle for my Dansette so that I could perhaps take the pound coin off the pickup arm. That last sentence describes my actual experience...

    My new 2160

If you find that your 2160 does not after all find favour with your moggies, I would be very happy to offer it a new home, free of charge. I have the ideal place where it would be comfortable. It would not lack for anything by way of creature comforts and it would have its own dedicated power...

That's brilliant and very clear - many thanks for saving my aging back muscles!

    Controlling 1160 through 1110?

Thanks for suggestion - I did so in May but seem to have caught them by surprise in terms of their software updates for 1110! I am sure I saw some reference on this site to a member being able to control 1160 on/off from the 1110 but for the life of me I can't find it now. Maybe that member...
