    My Listening Room

Sam, it is the Huawei P30 PRO phone with Leica lens. It is my brother in law's phone which is with my daughter because she is setting up some apps for his uncle, and I played with the camera because I heard it is very good. It's specialty is that it can shoot very well in dark situations - like...

Maybe like the song, it's all coming back to him (just) now, for KD.

How the inside of a 20 yr. old Magnepan looks like

No need, Christoph. No problem at all. :)

How the inside of a 20 yr. old Magnepan looks like

Sorry for the confusion, Christoph. What I should have said was the room has no windows and I turn on the air conditioning only when I listen. So most of the time actually the room at doing 30-33C about more than half of the year. Humidity ranges from 75-95% all year so perhaps the corrosion...

How the inside of a 20 yr. old Magnepan looks like

Just to add, when the black Solen cap was diagnosed as the culprit, the tech man has on hand a pair of generic caps of the same value and I decided to put them on just to make the speakers work normally again while I order the original parts. I must say the sound of the generic cap sounds...

Tasos, Yes.. The tech man told me to brace for the bad sight maybe due to our humidity all year long as he had seen some bad ones too. The more seasoned Maggie owners say the caps last really long and I will get there somehow. Right now the cloth is all sealed and it's tough to open it up again.

How the inside of a 20 yr. old Magnepan looks like

Around 2015, I heard some flapping in the bass of the R speaker and some mid range distortion on the L speaker. A friend immediately told me the wires have been detached from the diaphragm of the planars and I sought out an expert repairman who was very familiar with Magnepan speakers. I had to...

New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Hats off to Marc Gasol, he won 2 big titles in a span of 3 months. And one of the few brothers in the NBA to have won a title.

    Koetsu

Well, I almost 'facilitated' such a 'unique' model. And here is another Koetsu 'lore'. A few months ago, I got a private message from a Koetsu User Group member to request Sugano-san to make him a special model from his Pink Rose Granite stone which he got from an Obelisk while working in...

OMG - have you seen those Magnepans !?

Imo, much to its credit, Magnepan built its speakers at a very very affordable price point. Even in the 90s, say the 2.7QR was priced at a modest $2,000. In the 80s, the top of the line Thiel CS 3.5 was already at $3,500. Apparently Magnepan didn't believe in 'cosmetics'. The build is rather...

New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

With many big 'stars' pulling out to 'help' the USA team. There is no surprise at this outcome.

And one last play I will always remember - Reggie Miller pushes MJ and hits the game winner.

    Koetsu

Found these pages which came out at the time when I started to sell Koetsu, the old fashioned reviews to boost sales. :D
