I am interested in the 1.0. Will it work on a stand mounted speaker. The speaker has a granite cabinet and has stillpoints screwed into the bottom of the speaker resting on top a matching granite speaker stand. Currently I have the stand with no footers sitting on carpet. If the 1.0 LS footers would work with my stand mounted speaker would it go under the speaker or stand?
Yes as per Steve's post above --I asked the question of Joe a couple of months back re the possibility of the Footers functioning under my SFG Homages which also have the Granite based stands.
He would not recommend the footers in my case.

You might want to sell your Ultra 11's after you hear the Ultra 7 with Joe's LS feet, as they are truly that good

Leif has figured a way to replace the caster system. It's coming :) Now we wait for Covid to get out of the way! :D

I have found after 4 years of using this product that it is very system dependent. Like you I am 100% tubes so that has always been a concern for settle in and tube life

My routine is to ruin music 8 hours every day and IO listen for the first half hour and last half hour every day.

Settle in for me with the LS 1.5's was 7-8 days
Hi Steve...the 7-8 days I could live with. Some have reported 21-30 days; would be try my endurance.

It's all about the music as they say Sid and IMO the wait is worth its weight in gold. The LS series IMO is Joe's finest product

I have received a few comments from members in SE Asia who are now using the LS series feet under their speakers as to the 4 screws on the underside of the saucer. Some of you feel they look tacky and Joe should have designed something prettier. Here is the short answer as to why you see what you do
1. These screws are essential for securing the saucer to the foot itself.

2. Most importantly these screws believe it or not were specifically chosen by Joe because of the positive sonic benefit. They are a special titanium alloy and if anodized the sound is not as good. For me, it was never a big deal as I understand whatJoe does and why he does it. These are under the feet and will never be seen unless you turn the foot upside down. Those screw are quite expensive

Hmm-- I see the screws are there for a legitimate reason, fair enough--I would hope they are countersunk enough to avoid scratching/marking
expensive flooring if one wishes to make slight changes( edging/etc) to a different speaker position.
I presume this factor has been taken into account.

Actually, if I look closely, I think he has actually done better than that. He appears to have mitred the inner edge of the screw hole. Which indicates not only countersunk the screw itself, but even the inner edge of the screwhole slopes INWARD.

Then its a no brainer-with the product finish quality beyond reproach.

Good one

It’s not an issue Bruce. you can’t even see the screws unless you turn the foot upside down

Guys....Lloyd is correct. These titanium alloy screws were selected for one reason.....the sonic improvement they impart more so than other metals....everything counts. You can't even see the screws. I suggest that you let the music show you what these feet can do

I will say again. It is a non issue. This IMO is the best product Joe has brought to market

Here are my impressions of the Center Stage2 LS 1.5 footers that I received on November 23. They were installed under my Wilson Audio Alexia Series 2 loudspeakers. Earlier, when the CS footers were introduced, I bought 2 sets for both my DAC and my preamplifier. They were later upgraded to version two (CS2) when they came out. These equipment footer have been great in my system and I therefore took the plunge and ordered a set of LS 1.5 footers for my speakers (although they were not a small investment for me).

I now consider the LS footers to be more or less fully settled in. This, since I don't hear any major changes in my systems sound anymore. As other customers have already described what happens during the settle in period of the footers, I will not go into describing that.

In summary, I believe these LS 1.5 footers have taken my system to a new higher level, mainly by lowering the noise floor and at the same time increasing detail and clarity in the soundstage, probably by removing low level distortion induced by small cabinet vibrations. Individual sounds are better pronounced, the sustain and decay phases (which was particularly apparent with, for example, piano) seems clearer and lasts longer. There are more air in the sound that are also more open and spacious (soundstage seemed even deeper) and instruments are more palpable and present.

My system now, with the LS 1.5 footers, gives me a much more natural and realistic presentation of the music, combined with better and more nuanced dynamics, especially small dynamic shifts in the music are now much easier to discern. The soundstage is larger in all directions, with better 3D definition of instruments and singers that are clearly defined in space.

Bass performance is much improved, mainly by better articulation and definition. The mids and high frequencies are mainly improved by increased detail, clarity and sweetness in tone, without any distortion artifacts.

In short, I would like o say that I think these new LS 1.5 footers are a great achievement by Joe at Critical Mass Systems (CMS). I'm very happy that I took the plunge and ordered a set of the new LS footers!

I tend to evaluate questions like this by the return on your investment in LS with respect to the set up you are describing. In this case, I don't see enough return to justify the investment.

Hi Stefan

Thank you for your evaluation. This is very much appreciated. I heard your loudspeakers with LS1.0 and then again with LS1.5. I think you made the best choice with the LS1.5. Your beauties coalesce with them nicely.

Steve, are you and Joe saying that the LS footers are not designed for stand mounted monitor speakers?
Hi Peter

This is an excellent question. I am saying I want to see what I can do with the LS0.8 before I answer this definitively. I don't know the answer yet, to be clearer.

Joe
