* Did you watch a film last night (on Blu or DVD), and what was it? *

I liked "Splice", but I like any movie that is visually splendid and not too ridiculous. When she lost her balance on the roof and sprouted dragon fly wings, that was cool. I liked the weird, penis shaped slug splice creatures, too. The special effects guys really made them look like greasy dicks with tongues.

I liked "Green Lantern", too, in 3d. Watched parts of it twice and still liked it.

-----I fully (100%) respect your opinion on both of those movies,
and I also totally disagree (100%) with you. :D

* 'Splice' was totally ridiculous! :D

** Mmmm... ;)

*** Can't really say about 'Green Lantern 3D' as I only saw the 2D version.
[I didn't care for the 3D's price premium on that particular title.]

Bob: how large is your DVD/Bluray collection?

-----I don't know the exact count now but way over 3,000 anyway. ...Blu-ray only.

* DVD doesn't count anymore in my book as all my boxes of DVDs are in the basement.
I keep only few in my mansion's first floor. ...Perhaps 5,000 DVDs, or more.

I didn't watch it last night but I am listening/watching it right now...

treitz3: LOVE Nils Lofgren but didn't know he had a video? Does the visual part add anything to the listening experience?

By the way, an audio buddy (goes by CraigJohn) who used to visit here but more typically visits AVS has this as his signature

---If we could have 3D, without the glasses, I would be a very happy man.

As it is now, I'm just a happy man. :b

* It started real good (by the way, I was watching the 3D Blu disc version), with cool effects and all that jazz, but the second part at the circus was not up to its first part, unfortunately.
They lost it there, IMO. ...Too bad. ...I like the second one, 'Escape 2 Africa'.

Hello, Bob. I personally think so. It was nice to actually see how some of the sounds were made as it was happening. It wasn't the greatest of videos ever produced but entertaining, none the less. As far as my signature goes audioguy, for years, it had been "In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference." That is an original quote by yours truly. The latter part wasn't placed in until I read a thread shortly after joining this forum. I can't recall what thread it was in or who said something to that effect but the discussion [I thought] warranted a redirection of my ultimate goal and reflected my thoughts better than what was previously my signature.

"Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance"

Another "B" bomb. Don't know if anybody else would like this one, I did.

The franchise entirely changed to a European production company, bears very little resemblance to the original except for Nicholas Cage who looks like he just came off a weeping bender from his financial problems.

The change in locale and production is bad because a few of the performances are kind of wooden in that strange European way, and good because the locales in Turkey are fabulous, amidst ruins and exotic caves that really make me want to go there to see the real thing.

The flaming skull effects are first rate, though, I like them a bit better than the original because they are grimmer and grimier. Lots of good chase scenes that are choreographed up there with the better ones, motorcycle fu up the yang yang.

Waste an hour and a half with some popcorn.

Watched DVD on Sony OLED glasses, cool, check it out. If the 3D comes out on HBO cable, I may watch it again.tt1071875.jpg

Prometheus-Bluray-3D-DVD.jpg

Prometheus - some serious LFE. Not really a prequel, but the same universe years before.

I wish you could rent the 3D blu rays. Haven't seen any 3D rentals from the dispensers like Red Box yet.

I think 3D will eventually become a niche market; for the youngsters, for their better set of eyes?
Tres tres possible.

But then, they'd better have good jobs too.

* The proof? ...Just look at Panasonic, FOX Studios, and James Cameron.
...And the price of 3D Blu-rays in stores ($40 to $50 for Disney 3D titles)!
Here in my country anyway.

Also, here in Canada people cannot get any Panasonic and Sony and Samsung and LG Blu-ray model players with two HDMI outputs! Fact!
Why is that you think? ...I let you answer that one on your own.
