Could be off topic however...

I often recall my Neumann SAL74 rack from the old cutting system and I wish that a hifi system could be assembled in this way: standard rack size modules that slide into a rack system. Seems such a smart way. But not conducive to the commercial / ego way...

The Cello Suite Preamp was designed this way:
Hifi & HT - preamplifier - Hifi Inside (hifi-inside.com)

I think it would be still possible if some manufacturors would agree to follow a standard as was the case for the German broadcast in the early days. Here it was deterimend by the IRT. They provided the specs and different companies then could build the stuff according to these given specs (Telefunken, Siemens etc.). Each had some freedom to alter the design a little but within the given specs.

I also used my mixing console as preamp some years ago but then wanted to have a dedicated preamp so i could use the console for recordings again.

I love the industrial design of vintage electronics specially the all black WE tacks with exposed tubes, meters and big knobs.

I wonder if maybe they have a spare room for an enthusiastic listener?
Please contact them... i think they invite guests occasionally

An invitation from last year :

Ein kleines Konzert mit Masha Dimitrieva am 21.7.2020

Am 21. Juli 2020 haben wir mit aller Vorsicht ein kleines Konzert mit Masha Dimitrieva hier in der Funkstunde angesetzt. Die Zeit der Virus-Einschränkungen wollen wir im Rahmen des Möglichen nicht ganz klanglos vorbeiziehen lassen.
