Being so enamored of this recording I decided to get a second opinion.
.."....sounded flat and muffled..."
Assuming we are both being honest this is very confusing. A review is to follow.

I keep listening and just can't find any faults.
Thus would make a great recording for system evaluation.
The second opinion was on a different system and country
