Remarkable experiment showing how the brain synthesis reality on its own. In this test, a rubber hand is placed in plain view and the real hand not. The experimenter strokes both for a while. After 30 seconds of so, the brain starts to believe the rubber one is real and the real one not! See this dramatic consequence of that:

I heard that brain loses so much interest in the real arm that it starts to lower its blood flow and temperature drops as a result!
