Saw this movie the other day. I wasn't expecting too much but we both ended up really liking it. Antonio Banderas handled the lead nicely while Juliet Binoche and Lou Diamond Phillips again proved they are both under appreciated actors.

I must admit that I haven't been motivated to see this film only because the ending is known and anything in between could certainly be Hollywood contrived. I might rethink this in lieu of your thoughts

The reviews are pretty positive with the movie focusing on the emotional aspects of the people which was not told in the news. I remember watching an interview of the people who were rescued a year or two later and that story too was quite fresh. Look forward to seeing it on home video. Thanks for posting.
