I ordered TechDAS Air Force Zero at the end of 2019. The expected delivery time was on August 2020. The designer Nishikawa san wanted to install every Zero personally to make sure it performed to the highest standard. COVID and travel ban had stopped TechDAS team to come and install my Zero. Nishikawa san promised after the pandemic, he will come and inspect every Zero to ensure its best performance.

Unfortunately, Nishikawa san passed away in June this year, but TechDAS still wants to fulfil his wishes. During the current Hong Kong HiFi Show, they came to my place to check and fine tune my turntable. The chief engineer, Hajime Shimizu, carefully measured every parameter and set it to factory recommended values. After a final listening test, he was satisfied that the Zero was up to his standard. I was very grateful for their efforts and professionalism. There is audible improvement after fine tuning. There are things that are overlooked before, such as tension on the belt and ride height of the turntable. Their expertise is no doubt very valuable. IMG_3308.jpeg IMG_3305.jpeg IMG_3306.jpeg

Very happy for you TLi! Envious too. Covid wiped out the finances I had prepared for an AF 0 of my own.

Will you be looking at the AF 10 arm? I may not be able to swing a Zero for the foreseeable future but an arm I should be able to muster.

I pre-ordered Air Force 10 for my turntable. The serial number for my Zero is 9, I reserved serial number 9 for my AF10. TechDAS agrees and guarantees I shall have the first batch of tonearm. I requested the armboard to be made in tungsten and they will look into it.

It is amazing how they packed all the features into one compact unit.

Just kidding. Have fun listening to the system.
