Hello to everybody.Currently I am looking for server. All I need is to put my own FLAC files to hard drive and feed my DAC through server.Looking at some used Auralic Aries,Innuous Mini,Naim unitiQute or something similar.Started reading about Raspberry pi although I am total noobie in computer audio.I am listening to my own playlists and quite often volume levels on songs from different albums are not similar. Some songs play louder some are quieter.Wanted to ask-which servers has some kind of feature that levels the volume from different albums? Will be happy also about any suggestion which server to choose. At the moment I use some Android box and Kodi. Thanks

I cannot help you directly but I use JRiver on PC-based hardware. It can scan all the files for levels and dynamic range and offers the option to play back albums/files at adjusted output levels. Seems do what you want.

Some time ago I was using PC programs on my laptop like JRiver and Foobar .They had a lot of features but sound quality was nothing special. Even switching to Android box and Kodi gave noticeable improvements of SQ. Now I hope to improve it even more with some dedicated music server.Thank you Kal for your input but I will never go back to PC based hardware.Raspberry Pi might be the exception because I have read many good reviews about it regarding the SQ.

I doubt that.

I doubt that, too.

I have no idea what you did or set up but there's no magic in an Android box nor in any other lightweight processor.
