ripping CD

I am using a windows 10 program called EZ CD Audio converter and as it rips the music (flac format) it fills in the meta data.

Every thing works fine except for one CD the meta data is from another artist other that the one that the CD contains.

The CD plays the correct music, but shows that the music is from another artist. FWIW, this a factory produced CD so has not been screwed around with by some idiot.

Since there is probably no way to rip it correctly, I'm looking for a way to go in and change all the meta data manually.

Any comments/ideas??? TIA!!

Sometimes the online databases of music are wrong. Hey you get what you pay for! You will need to re-tag your files with the right info. You need a audio file Metadata/tag editor.

Here is a good one.

Another player that lets you re-tag is foobar2000. Very versatile

This is a very common problem since CDs are identified by number of tracks, total playing time etc and mismatches are inevitable. Check which metadata source does EZ CD converter uses such as freedb, musicbrainz etc. If possible try to change it and maybe you get the correct info for the problematic CD. Normally CD ripping software displays a list of matching releases and you should be able to choose the correct one before ripping.
