One thing for certain, in reading all of the posts by people (myself included) who have or had plantar fasciitis is the common demoninator of being the worst pain we have ever had

The worst pain I have ever had was after hernia surgery. pf was mild in comparison. The Dr. lied to me and told me there would be "mild discomfort" when I got out of bed each morning. The good news was that by day 4, the pain was gone.

Edit: Let me modify that. The Dr. that did my vasectomy must have graduated from the school of pain and suffering. As he was preparing me for the surgery, he was injecting something into my man-parts that was excruciating.
