PENTODES LEFT/RIGHT BANK IN THE HORIZON

I know many with the Horizon run two different pairs of pentodes per left and right bank running balanced. Can someone shed some light into this? I do run balanced. I'm no circuitry expert, just trying to understand more completely what happens when you do this. If someone who is more technically versed can explain what happens when doing this, I would appreciate it. I suspect it is no longer truly balanced. Just trying to wrap my head around this...
