Unless the pricing drops significantly in the next few years I won't be buying one. I'll stick with Plasma and hope to get a nice deal on a Panasonic now that they've decided to end production.

Yes, they are quite expensive right now. I predict that in twelve months from now the prices will be roughly half of what we're seeing at the present.

And twenty-four months from now, that 55" OLED (Samsung) would be roughly one third of what it is right now; $3,000 or so.

Then my plasma HDTV will be given as a gift to a family member, or to the poor, and I'll pierce ahead with the new elite (advanced & improved OLED technology).

True, and the curved screen limits the viewing angle (width) for people sitting at extreme edges.

I agree, it's only a temporary cool 'wow' factor that will eventually die.

But! For a very wide screen (100-200") then a curved screen is 'IMAXly' good.
